it is more west and the western end of the boulevard. i think the europagarten-hochhaus has been replaced by 4 x 90m highrises in the current highrise-masterplan? and on the emserbrücke, in this drawing left of the boulevard, there are according to the masterplan 5 midrises from 50-90m planned.

btw, nice drawing you did!

I think the EUROPAVIERTEL project is the best project in Frankfurt.

patrick is partially right. there are four new midrises plannend for the europaviertel, but they're not on the site of the hochhaus am europagarten - they're to the left and to the right of the s-bahn tracks - I forgot to add them in my drawing. the proposed hochhaus am europagarten is indeed further to the west. my rendering only shows the eastern half of the europaviertel project.

I guess that you mean here the 5 midrises I mentioned in my edited reply (Hochhäuser an der Emserbrücke) ?

oh you're right. I didn't realize there were 9 towers planned there - I just thought there were 4 towers at emser brücke. so it looks like the hochhaus am europagarten was dropped in favour of 4 x 90m towers.

@ BMXican: good job, your drawing!

@ Patrick: Please mention the source (FAZ) explicitly. (this scan is residing on one my my webspaces, and I don't want to get into trouble thx!)

Regarding the Bahntower Tower185 could also be a real good alternative, as it would strengthen the Messecluster. As seen with this development, it was good that the city didn't concede the requirements of the investors side.

Edit: The visualization as seen in newfvgffm's post #9 seems to be outdated, as it is showing the old version of the UEC with extended retail area. So, hopefully, soon we will see some new stuff about this project...

An article in a local newspaper said that it might be that they build it without the office tower first, but Mr. Schwarz, the construction supervisor for Frankfurt, said that he is sure that they build it at once because the investors would be interested in doing so.

So its going to be a roulette

Here is another render of the construction dimensions showing the UEC, the 2 Towers and a part of the new Europaviertel (mainly residential)...more at www.vivico.de

So it's clear that the smaller tower will be built?

interesting article newfvgffm. I hope they don't go for the old 195m version though. I wonder when vivico will present new official info on the project.

I wouldn't take that video too serious, newfvgffm, as it is still playing with the musical theatre idea...

But the other renders are really interesting. Would be a great addition for Frankfurt when being built like this!

i am not taking it serious, it should not make that impression. with that project, meanwhile, everything is possible.

great find, newfvgffm. it's almost more interesting than the office tower by nouvel.

looks like the hotel will have serviced apartments too - four seasons has something like that - part of the building would be a hotel and the rest would be serviced apartments operated by the hotel chain

The building permission is for 195m, but I remember somehow, that this height limit is not related to the roof, it has to do with the highest floor. For sure it is not including necessary technical installations and floors. The following picture from the HD's first post of this thread shows quite good that huge studio like top floor area.

This could easily be 15 and more meters. This explains the discrepancy between the different figures mentioned at various occasions.

according to a floor plan I got from nouvel the roof of the top office floor (52nd, including ground floor) is at 194.85m, which is probably the approved 195m. then there is one huge mechanical floor with an option for a second mechanical floor (making a total of 53 floors) - the roof of the building ends at 211.85m

there is also a roof garden at the 49th floor (183.90m).

wouldn't the roof garden fit as a public area? in this case, frankfurt has not so much to offer (Main Tower and (?)Japan Center; TV Tower and Henninger are so closed)
