^ Unless Centaurus isn't built. But yeah it's away from the main commercial area so it will be noticeable from Dam-n-Koh even if Centaurus is built.

Reardonsmiths are the consultant architects of this hotel.
An iconic new tower, some 200 metres tall, was chosen by Hyatt to accommodate its first hotel in Islamabad and ReardonSmith was appointed as Hotel Operational Consultants to work with the developer, the local architect, Arcop, and Hyatt. In this capacity, ReardonSmith was responsible for guiding the internal planning of the hotel element within the tower to meet Hyatt’s requirements as well as for the further development of some elements of the façade. The scheme for the Grand Hyatt Islamabad included ballrooms, restaurants and spa together with 360 guestrooms and several floors of serviced apartments. Arrival was to be via an express lift to the Sky Lobby at level 42 with bedroom floors below and public areas and apartments above. ![]() ![]() bnp have much better renders than these. why are reardonsmith hosting such horrible renders?

What is the building behind the worksite (in the last pic)? Seems pretty modern.

Environmental impact of Grand Hyatt discussed
ISLAMABAD: Water and energy conservation should be given top priority while undertaking a developmental project, said Asif Shujah Khan, the Director General Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (Pak-EPA).
He said this Saturday during the hearing on the EIA report on the Grand Hyatt Development project in Islamabad. He said the hearing aimed at eliciting views of the public, academia and environmental organisations about the project and its impact on the environment. He said a public meeting was held in compliance with Section 12 of Pakistan Environment Protection Act, 1997 and IEE/EIA regulations-2000. The EPA DG highlighted the significance of the public hearing and conducted the EIA review. He said water and energy requirements, traffic management, reflection and shadow problems should be considered while undertaking the mega project. The representative of Grand Hyatt Development project introduced the team of consultants and contractors involved in design and execution of the project. In his presentation of the project, he highlighted that the project proponents were conscious of the energy and water requirements which would be met through adoption of most efficient technologies so that the project could be marked as "Green project". To achieve this, he said, a number of studies were undertaken before going into the design phase the subjects of which included traffic management, security, wind effects, reflection and shadow impacts. Salient features of the project include, recycling of 40 percent of its wastewater, a parking space with a capacity of around 1,500 vehicles. Around 40 percent of the area will remain under green cover, there will be no impact on Rawal Lake View Park. |
