The Crowngate scheme. Don't know if it still includes the tower Beard. Let's hope so.

Crowngate was only ever a vision by Dandara and will never be anything else, which is a real shame.Still we still have Chapel Wharf.

Remember Born in The North . There is not a cat in hells chance of Crowngate ever going ahead! If it ever did have a chance I would be the first to be bragging about it as it would have been a great addition to this even greater city of ours!

Harrison Ince have just updated their website.(been watching it for a while)

Nothing really exciting apart from this little beauty which is currently going up
across the road from the Tom Garner site.

H.

Past the site on numerous occasions over the last few weeks wondering what was going up. Atleast we know now. Wonder what Ask have got planned for next door? I'm sure it won't be the original proposal anymore.

My exact thoughts Manc Guy. It was probably done in-house to save a few quid.

Actually that's not what is going up at the moment. I posted a picture of what is going on the Southern Gateway thread.

I have a feeling that he image jrb posted is the commercial element which is alluded to on the Hill Developments website that they never found funding for.

Beautiful building - well designed and excecuted.

The bit under construction at the end is a further phase of the development which will be 10 storeys and curved to follow the line of the river Irwell.

There is also a small row of townhouses that will sit behind. There's a great little annimation and further images of the development here:

I actually think JRB might be right on this one. If you look at my 2nd picture re-posted by Sleepy you will notice a seperate site then the main River "whatever" development is going on. The framework for another seperate building is now going up fast on this site but it's not connected in anyway to the development posted by Sleepy. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to get down and grab and photos in the next few weeks, but if someone is down that way we could do with an update.

If you look at the render posted by JRB, the brick building at the bottom of the tower is the one I think is under construction. As to whether this will lead into the new tower or whether those 2 buildings are different I'm not sure.

I'll clear this confusion up tomorrow. I'll drive down and have a look on the way home.

Who's your money on? (only joking BTW)

The building 'where the framework is going up fast' next to Simpsons office is a resi scheme by OMI - they dont have a website at the minute so dont know what it looks like but they are good.
