Also note that Hodge is not a dedicated architecture minister. Architecture does fall under her portfolio, along with many other things. She's normally described as the Minister for Culture, Creative Industries & Tourism. http://www.culture.gov.uk/about_us/our_ministers/ http://www.culture.gov.uk/about_us/o...aret_hodge.htm

Contractor will advise developer Land Securities during planning stage of London project
Mace is being tipped to take an office scheme worth an estimated £75 million in central London after being chosen to advise developer Land Securities during the planning stage. The firm has been named construction and demolition advisor for the redevelopment of Fleetbank House, a 40,000 sq m mixed use scheme in London’s legal district. The CF Møller-designed scheme features two blocks of seven and 12 storeys. Whitbybird is structural engineer, the services engineer is Roger Preston and EC Harris is QS. If the construction package does go Mace’s way it would mark a second potential major Land Securities project for the firm in recent months after it picked up the pre-construction agreement for the £200 million ‘walkie-talkie’ tower at 20 Fenchurch Street. But a Land Securities spokeswoman said Mace did not have the job in the bag. She added: “We have not appointed a construction contractor and cannot comment on any value.” Work on the job is due to start in 2009 for completion by 2011. Elsewhere in the capital, ISG has picked up a £30 million project at Aldwych close to the Strand. The firm has been appointed by client UKI (Kingsway) on a preconstruction agreement ahead of negotiations for a fixed-price, lump-sum contract for the -redevelopment of One Kingsway. The scheme will involve knocking down a series of buildings behind a retained facade on Kingsway, Drury Lane and Aldwych, which will be replaced by a 10-storey mixed-use development. And Carillion has been confirmed as the winner on a £45 million, 196 apartment residential scheme as part of European Land’s Merchant Square development in Paddington, west London. Work on the project is expected to start next month.
