The Olympic Park is closed at moment - still work to do.
Only just been handed over to LOCOG (organising committee )
Finishing touches to be done.

I doubt it'll be "open" until late 2013/2014. From now till the Games it'll be a secure site, during Games-time it'll be ticket only, and after that it'll be closed off so it can be reconfigured (temporary venues removed, more parkland added etc.)

Well yes, but when it reopens in 2014 there won't be a security fence around the periphery of the Park as there is now, it will be an open space 24 hours. Except for the venues and spaces that are in transition to becoming housing of course.

Well athletes are housed in the village, officials are brought in from their hotels along the route network, through the secure transport malls at each end of the Park and then around the secure Loop Road inside the Park.

Spectators enter from Westfield in the East, Greenway Gate in the South, Eton Manor Walk in the North and Victoria Gate in the West according to that new map I posted last week.

Just a reminder as to how the RUN artwork will look when it's finished:

During daylight, the letters will act as a mirror for visitors and their surroundings, and at night the letters will become more transparent and glow with internal LED lighting.

The ugliest thing for me on the Aquatic Centre (a building I otherwise like) is the grey-yellow panelling on the wings. But as you can see on this pic, it is transparent in the renderings. Anyone know if they plan to peel off this panelling?

Nice video, but it changed my mind,
I had a completely different idea of how the park would be.
