I have no idea what you are talking about. The aerial views look stunning. But clearly, when they designed the park and the vehicular and pedestrian routes through it, how ordered it looks when viewed from a helicopter was the least of their concerns. Clearly you'd prefer everything in straight lines and in nice neat rows. Why?

All the visitors, unless they come with a jet pack, will experience the park on the ground on foot, and from that perspective the park works brilliantly.

it's not a fact, it's just your opinion which you are entitled to. In my opinion the park is absolutely stunning and I prefer it to the last few previous Olympic Parks.

Lots of cool pictures here, including what it will look like after it's done (legacy mode). I didn't realize the place was so Brutalist.
Smooth as Water, Strong as Steel: The Undulating Roof of London's Olympic Pool

Less than a week away! I can't wait. I'm rooting for my boy Marquise "Flash" Goodwin in the long jump. He's a dual athlete that doubles as a wide receiver on my college (American) football team. He jumped 27 feet in trials. He's probably the favorite to win. Would love to see him bring a gold medal back to Texas.

By the way, the colors will go a long way toward bringing everything together and making the Olympic site look more complete and polished and organized, not messy. I think to a lot of people it didn't look right because a lot of these finishing touches hadn't been added yet.

It's not really brutalism, the architect ( Zaha Hadid) is famed for the shapes typical of the aquatics centre, however it would cost a huge amount to fabricate that type of thing from steel with concrete being the only really economically viable method, just because there is bare exposed concrete doesn't make it a brutalist building

What does make a building Brutalist then?

Brutalist comes from the French 'Breton Brut' which does literally mean Bare Concrete. However I would suggest that the Aquatics centre is more Organic than Brutalist.

The only thing missing from that video is Boris Johnson's hilariously brilliant speech. He sure knows how to get people in the spirit.

The vegetation and planting is looking good, timed to perfection to blossom in the coming week in time for the Olympics.
