Certainly if we would have made a real "autostrada" in the 70' now we would not be spending 15 billion € in remaking it

I know is about 7 bilion €.

Happened to me yesterday:
GREEN LIGHT but... CLOSED BARRIER!!!!

I almost hit it... It was just for luck (and careful driving) that I noticed it at last and I had nobody behind me, because I had to jump on the brake in order to stop before hitting the barrier.

And this is not the first time that Autostrade s.p.a. makes me almost hit its barriers.
Last time, I was approaching the Telepass lane and when I was just few metres far from it they deliberately closed the barrier without any previous warning (and the green light turned red only AFTER the barrier was closed). I had to brake (and consequently a lot of cars/trucks behind me had too), the car in front of me had to accelerate in order to pass under the closing barrier without getting hit on the windscreen or on the roof.

The toll station in the photo is on A8/A9 direction Milan (this is a Viacard/credit cards lane).

The toll station where they closed the barrier on the Telepass lane without warning was on Eastern Bypass (A51), direction Usmate Velate branch.

One could be asked if demolition is done by yellow machine or by itself.

When I traveled there I wondered how they will rebuild this pretty markant section of A3. Now I see, you build new motorway.

The strada dei marmi (marble's road) near Carrara has been opened. It links directly the quarries to a main road avoiding Carrara. It is expected to carry around 700 trucks a day. It's the white line in the map below, the red ones being the existing roads carrying trucks.

The road will be 5,6 km long, but mostly (4,6km) in tunnels.

Right, Sardegna. I recently took someone to the airport who went to Rome. Do you have any pics from Sardinia?

Confiscated two BreBeMi's construction sites

Troubles for BreBeMi, the autostrada in construction between Milan and Brescia. On a very bad story of bribery for waste disposal, vice president of Lombardy regional council was arrested. Some construction sites of BreBeMi were closed down by Carabinieri, who found a very high percentage of poor materials and waste.

God I hate this country.

EDIT: Seems like me and Satyricon were writing at the same time.
