It's not autostrada, so I'd not expect emergency lanes.

Is it a superstrada? I only drove one superstrada, the SS36 along the Como Lake, and it looks quite similar to this one (except most of the length being in tunnels).

I hope that the things are better for the sake of the locals.

By the way, Napoli fantastica.
You can read my report from this year here. Much is happening, but even more is still to be done. Still it is fascinating freeway (and yes, it is really free).

You can see blue SOS-niche signs at some photos. On autostradas they are green.

When talking about SOS-niches on Italian autostradas: Even when they have emergency lanes in full length, wide and spacious SOS-niches are still present about every two kilometers and their distance is frequently and clearly signed on emergency lanes. I find that as very nice safety feature, not very common on European motorways.

And other old autostradas (A3, A7 and other) also not. They will have them eventually, but this will cost a lot of money.

Especially for the one on the Riviera. I can't even begin to imagine how many viaducts need to be widened...

And tunnels too

One courious thing is that a freeway close to it near San Remo (I mentioned it in the thread previously in the first pages) got an emergency lane

So there are close a highway with two lanes and no emergency lane and a freeway with two lanes + emergency lane

That's interesting! Are you referring to the the freeway section from near Arma di Taggia to Sanremo?

And also, do you know why the built this Autostrada, the most important link to France, without the emergency lanes? I know it was probably built a long time ago, when there weren't so many safety concerns and regulations, but still it doesn't seem like a very good idea, even if cheaper.

Looks very decent, except for the small emergency lane, but that's more and more common in Europe. And maybe i'm too used to an emergency lane which is 3,5 - 4m wide in the Netherlands. Quite a luxury compared to other countries.

You answered to yourself. Old German Autobahns don't have emergency lanes also.

If you mean this one

it is not an exit ramp: it is Padua tangenziale crossing over A4 (to change the side where to run close to it)

If I see correctly, here also ends Padova tangenziale. Right?

Obvious

I think it is Padova Ovest (West) exit on A4

About its bigness... it seems to me quite common even not being a barrier

For istance look at this one (always on A4) in Verona

Yes, and there is also a freeway crossing

An interchange to nothing

Look at this

It is an interchange on SS36 in Milan Metro Area
They built it during early '90s meanwhile they were building the three lanes superstrada: in that point had to pass by the new highway 'Pedemontana Lombarda', they thought at the time within few years

Unfortunately the project had a troubbled life and they didn't start the works yet (but now they'll start for sure)

More: they changed the project and that intersection has changed, so they have to tear down the old one and built a new one (as you can see in this pic)
