Road police officers sometimes are deputized to act as custom and drug police officers. And because of all the Mafia-thing, they are usually more heavily armed than the average european police officer.

The Italian police was one of the first to get some quite modern stuff: they have now some ultrasound portale devices they can use to detect large quantities of money bills. I, or should I rather say my car, has been scanned by one of those in the Italian-Swiss border in 2009.

You're right. A23 is a very important smuggling route between Italy and Eastern Europe. You often hear on local news channel about trucks and vans caught here filled with drugs, migrants with no permission to stay in the Schengen area, smuggled pets kept in terrible living conditions, etc... Another critical point is Fernetti border crossing with Slovenia. Months ago they stopped a van that was delivering automatic weapons from Balkans to southern Italy, where they were intended to be purchased by Camorra.

Nope, it's not her. That girl was just accidentaly there when I took the pic (I tried to picture the police officers without them or somebody else noticing).

I already do it.

Did prices in Munich fall somewhat since last year? When I was living there I remember prices around 1.42-1.45

Stable but maybe a bigger price war. A difference between night and day of 14ct is not unusual. If you've seen 1,45, 1,32 was certainly possible.

Yes you're right, I remember prices changing a lot from day to night and from workdays to weekends.

Crash today on Tangenziale Est Milano northbound in Vimercate. 33 cars and 45 injuried. The cause of the crash was a huge piece of ice fell down on the street inside the tunnel.

Do you remember if those pics were taken northbound or southbound? In the first case is Fella rest area, in the second Campiolo rest area.

Weird language order: French on the 2nd row (France around 600km) and German on the last (Austrian border close).
Now we should also add Slovenian, Croatian, Czech and Hungarian but probably this sign was made when the Iron Curtain still existed and there weren't many people from those close countries like today.

The last pic is probably Zugliano or Ledra, due of the flat landscape, the first two are Fella for sure.
