Actually most exits on Italian motorways are too short, narrow and windy. From my experience and also my knowledge they are often main cause of many traffic jams on motorways. Even new motorways or upgraded ones are not better in that respect

Between Milan and Malpensa airport is all conurbated: you posted the only two kilometers not urbanized nearby the motorway, between Lainate and Cerro Maggiore; did I get it?

I have been on that stretch of highway on the Malpensa Express bus. I got to see how crazy Italian motorcyclists are.

All those viaducts and tunnels in IT are gorgeous. I bet many think they're scars on a beautiful landscape though.

One in south Calabria north of Scilla. It is amazing driving over it (and whole stretch. Don't know the height, by looking at Google Earth it has way more than 150 m. Here's my picture taken from valley below:

I wonder, how new viaduct, which construction started this year, near old one, will look.

A3 is in complete renovation, means new tunnels, new viaducts. New motorway goes deeper in the hills. You can see construction yard in right side of this image (another long viaduct near Scilla)

I found that on the web... tanks 'invading' autostrada
They usually use trucks to transfer armoured military vehicles, anyway this model of tank (Centauro) reaches a speed of 100 km/h on road

I don´t think they are much heavier per axle than trucks.

Can't do. If you look at some of my pictures here you can see, that objects are old and worn out, corners are very tight, tunnels don't have any adequate security. Some part are being only widened, where terrain is simple, but on difficult terrain it is better to built completely new motorway.
Also as I've noticed, new Italian tunnels have all full length emergency lanes.
