Anyway, I never heard of Sesljan. It's not signposted since it isn't a bilingual area.

We call Monfalcone Tržič, but we don't use it so much since we also have Tržič between Ljubljana and Klagenfurt.

correct, except SS55 Sesljan is well known and very often used name here on our side.

I like NSA56. it's like a short expressway.

yes, people from Nova Gorica call it Molfankon. I am almost sure that we change L and N letters.

There's 50 km/h also on NSA 326, which is officially a superstrada.

Lecce

I was looking at the Lecce Ring Road, and I was wondering why it looks somewhat oversized. Was Lecce planned to be much larger? It has several weird-looking giant roundabout interchanges to what are basically rural areas. These roundabouts have a diameter of over 100 meters, almost 3 times the standard diameter.

That ringroad is quite recent, so built with modern standards for an expressway.

It is oversized only in northeast and southwest quadrants. I don't think Lecce was planned to be larger, but I think it's better that they didn't build the road too close to the houses.

This is the road on the right, connected with the main road with that huge roundabout:

Not far away from there, there is also another very interesting road: The so called "Poligonale di Bitonto", an almost perferct circle that surrounds the town of Bitonto.

However you cannot drive all around bitonto: there is a missing link in the SE:

And in the NW part the road meets the SS98 expressway but there are no underpasses or overpassess crossing it, so the two sections of the circle are unconnected:

Misleading road signs

We come from Jesolo and we're driving north along the SR43 going towards Venice.
Before the village of Caposile appears this roundbout:

Those written in red are the correct logical directions.

It look like that we must take the 3rd exit. And off course signage says that:

All right? No! You can't yet take the A4 to Trieste (and then the A23 to Udine) taking the 2nd exit of the roundabout! Until the Meolo junction is completed you must take the first exit towards San Donà di Piave and join the A4 at San Donà - Noventa junction! Taking the 2nd exit you can just go to Treviso and to the A27 north.

But we don't have to enter the motorway. We're just heading to Venice on the normal road. So we must take the 3rd exit.

This is the 1st exit: obviously it's not for us.

We continue to circle around and we reach the 2nd exit:

WTF? It says Venice? But wasn't the 3rd exit for Venice?

In fact, at the 3rd exit Venice is signposted again

But there is also a green sign pointing to A4 Venice. But no way you go to Venice from here via the A4. You must take the A57dir, then A57 and finally the A4 but only if you're heading towards Padua, Milan or Bologna. For going to Venice there is no other rational choise than SS14.

You wondered: what's the right exit to Venice? The 2nd or the 3rd? Well, bot roads lead there but if you take the 2nd exit it's some 10 - 15 km longer for no reason!
