Yes, you can see Gradara castle from A14 but not very clearly and it's not practical to stop there to take pics.

Or maybe you have a better one?
second one, but take SS3 from Fossato di Vico to Foligno and then to Assisi.
between FOligno and Assisi there is sweet little city Spello, if you have spare hour or two, go there.

Last friday I drove A4 Turin-Brescia. They opened the eastbound carriageway of "variante Bernate Ticino", with new bridge over Ticino river, in temporary roadworks layout. The westbound carriageway is still flowing on the original alignment.
The new alignment should open in time for Milan Expo 2015 (March).

Nice. What about the rest until A4-A8 interchange in Milano? It looks some parts are in construction, it should be 4+4, right?

Mmm yes, I remember yellow roadworks lines but not much happening. Works there are ongoing for less than a year, with a scheduled deadline of 2016.

However, after the renovation and enlargement, the Turin-Novara section of A4 is amazing. To me, the best motorway stretch in Italy.

Albinia bypass (former SS74) opened to traffic yesterday. It's located near SS1 in southern Tuscany.

How can you find news about such local projects?

Strade ANAS actually reported it twice. First they reported a new SS1 interchange was about to open, so I looked it up in Google Earth and saw the new bypass U/C. Then a few days later they reported the bypass opened to traffic.

Google Earth suggest that a significant part of the new bypass is elevated.

I also use Strade e Autostrade as a source for Italian news, along with SSC's Italian forum.

It seems that works on the A14 enlargement between Ancona Nord and Senigallia can be resumed next 1st May.

An interesting document showing excavation face positions ("fronte di scavo" in the document) during the last month for tunnel "Val di Sambro" in A1 Variante di Valico:

http://www.osservatoriovariantedival..._di_Sambro.pdf

Progress is about 100 m for each bore during the last month, 280 m left in north tunnel, 450 in south tunnel.

Driven the SS434 from Verona towards Ferrara yestarday in the dark. The surface is pretty bad, especially the first lane. Traffic was light though so i mostly used the second lane. Still not the best experience

I'm asking here 'cause I can't find the proper thread in the Italian Forum.

Anyone knows when the roadworks for the enlargement of SS4 Salaria between Posta and Antrodoco? They've been working for like 4 years, and the works seem far to be done.

By the way, I'd also like to tell you that the roadworks for the "A24 Complanari" in the A24 urban stretch in Rome.

Now there are 4 lanes per direction between Via dei Fiorentini and Toll Plaza Roma Est. After 4 years of work, finally it's almost completed.

I drove on it yesterday, and for the first time in a very long time, I managed to keep 130km/h steady for all the 15 km of that stretch.

Elapsed time for those 15 km dropped down from 1 hour to a bit more than 10 minutes.

Does it have 2x4 or 4x2 lanes? Google Earth imagery suggest A24 will feature 4 carriageways with 2 lanes each.

4 carriageways with 2 lanes each. The 2 in the center dedicated to highway users only (no exits until the toll plaza) and the 2 others dedicated to city commuters (exits at via Togliatti, via Tor Cervara, GRA, Ponte di Nona, Settecamini).
