I found Rome way worse than Naples. Because of the fact that in Naplse you have what's called "ordered chaos". Everyone drives in the same way, everyone breaks the same law in the same way. And they horn, oh they horn a lot. But smileing.

In Rome people are angry and mad while driving. They seem like they want to have you killed in the worst way ever.
And they horn, but in a different way...

Yesterday I was exactly on the road you're talking about, and a car horned and flashed at me because I was on the left lane at 100km/h (limit is 50 km/h) overtaking other cars on my motorbike. When I moved, he accelerated 'til 150 km/h, and literally shouted "**** you" from the car window. I repeat, the limit is 50 km/h.

Never found such thing in Naples, and I drove there a lot as well.

The big city with the more complicated driving experience in Italy, among those I've driven within (city streets, not just outskirts or highway) is Palermo.

Markings are even less common than in Napoli, and drivers often block intersections. The street plan is also complicated, with unbalanced one-way street pairs and widespread double parking. Some big avenues lack traffic lights on key spots, which make things worse. Scooters are as not wild as in Campania, thank God.

There is new March 2014 imagery that shows Brebemi in advanced stages of construction. The stretch of new imagery covering Brebemi runs from Romano di Lombarda to Brescia. The works east of SP19 seem least advanced.

During this weekend the A58 overpass of A1 near Melegnano has been put in place. Some pics from the Italian thread:

The section Udine Nord-Carnia appears already open in my 1979 road atlas.

Why is the A35 called BreBeMi (Brescia-Bergamo-Milano), when it doesn't run near Bergamo? I've never thought of that.

I have. The answer I said to myself was that it runs through those three provinces.

Maybe because it serves as a relief for Bergam , or just because it runs through the Bergamo province.

It should have been called the BsBgMi . But that is impossible to pronounce. I think the best name ever given to a road is FiPiLi.

If Austria would ever build a road from Furth (south of Krems) to Bruck an der Mur to replace the B20...

But only a western bypass of St. Pölten is planned up to now.
