Model Peter Stuyvesant Building showcased on Provada

05 June 2012

KCAP designed for Dutch developer Provast the mixed-use Peter Stuyvesant Building on Rotterdam's Wilhelminapier.

The Peter Stuyvesant Building is a mixed-use high-rise development with apartments, offices, restaurants and recreation facilities on Rotterdam’s Wilhelminapier. The former harbor pier is part of the redevelopment of Kop van Zuid which has started in the late 1980’s with the aim to redevelop Rotterdam’s abandoned harbor areas for living and working. Famous Hotel New York is located there and various high-rise buildings by internationally renowned architects like Rem Koolhaas, Sir Norman Foster, Alvaro Siza, Mecanoo and Renzo Piano. With 165 meters of height Peter Stuyvesant Building will become the highest tower on Wilhelminapier.

The new model of the building is currently showcased on the aanual Dutch Real Estate Fair Provada (Provast, hall 11, stand 26) and a project website www.peterstuyvesantbuilding.nl has been released recently.

Yeah seems like it ... Both towers were looking great, hopefully they'll come up with a new project for this location soon !

Aw, seriously? Rotterdam REALLY needed this tower there. It would have looked so much denser!

True. This pic shows the gaps all too well. Housing market is in crisis here, which doesn't development of new residential towers.
But I'm sure something will rise here in the mid term future (5-10 years).
