Comparing NY to Chicago is like comparing London to Frankfurt or Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur.

I'm sure we'll be shocked, just like with the New WTC towers.

This project will create at least 2 supertalls, most likely 3. Waiting is something most people can't do. Pic unrelated. By 2017, NY will have over a dozen supertalls.

Both. And also the Freedom tower should be 1776 ft high - and I doubt that anybody in foreseeable future will be bold enough to go over this symbolic number in NYC. So to be realistic - 1500 tops.

This is a false rendering I whipped up in a minute to try and imagine how the effect of placing supertalls near the ESB might affect the vista.
Very strange to think about the ESB being overshadowed.
Mind you - in this doodle I did, the placement is no doubt highly inaccurate, and the height and form mere speculation. But fun to try, anyway....

I would like too see 2 towers aorund 1500 feet to roof, in a very unique design but with no spires. I think that it would leave a good mark on the skylinne that wya

Woah it's already September!

I suppose we'll se renderings very soon!!!

I hope that there will be at least two supertalls with roofs over 1000'! I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more than that!

that's pretty cool canadian_national...

the idea of ESB getting overshadowed and looking like a midget is fine with me.... yes i know it's iconic and one of NYC's most prominent landmarks, but its been that way for almost 80 years. time to move on to bigger and better.

i would actually fancy the designs you did there canadian
