WTF?!!!

What the **** is wrong with NYC right now?!! I mean what the **** has happened to this city? This place, not so long, was the undisputed skyscraper king....and its not because of 9/11 either because there have been people for 30 years trying to build supertalls here....yet they're all not approved/cancelled. I'm sick of this shit.

Norman Foster/SOM, and it's not totally cancelled as of yet. I dunno why that crap is in the title now.

It's sad that state officials could try to destroy this project when the public hasn't even seen anything about it yet.

The project isn't cancelled. Also the NY Post is the worst possible source for real estate news. It says they want to sprinkle the square feet around, but it does not actually say they will. This is another shock headline to get peoples attention. I would not put much weight in that article.

Agreed. They are not the best source for reliable news. They named my school most violent of the city. Thats actually a HUGE lie. I don't think this project is dead, yet...

They wouldn't invest so much into it and let it be cancelled like by some NYS jerks. I know a person who has connections to people on this project, so I'll see what's really happening ASAP.

It's not cancelled. All that happened was NYS officials were leaning against two of the towers because of their LOCATION. I've read that the towers could be moved and the air rights could be transfered to a nearby site.

Aw man lets hope that it is just a bad prank

I want to see NYC grow and flourish again!! The city has so many old buildings that can be replaced by newer even taller and more beautifuller looking buildings who inspire the people living in that city!!!

Please let them build these two twins!! They will spirtualy replace the WTC towers that where lost at 9/11 and they will give the city a healthy boost off renewed energy flowing through the Midtown!!

Hope off a better tommorow always is their in your grasp. These buildings represent that hope...

If all of you could have seen how my face dropped when I read the word "cancelled" on that title...

Hopefully it's not completely cancelled, although this is about as big of a setback as you can get. I'm still holding out hope though. Every time I walk past MSG, I envision how 2 giant towers would look right there - I want to see this project completed so badly. Hell, I was even in Penn Station dropping a friend off today, and was getting so hungry for renderings. And then I come home and see this piece of news...

This project needs to happen. There's no other way.

Uhm...NYC is growing and flourishing. Just because we have old buildings doesn't mean we aren't "flourishing"

'Sprinkled around.' WTF does that mean. Office floor plates are supposed to be huge. And in the same damn structure! This kind of stuff just makes me insane. You feel really confident about a certain development even in its early stages...and then 'poof' its gone. What a crock I'm getting some beer. And yes its 7 am in my timezone.
