Wow, that rendering is impressive. That would be a huge change for the city's profile and skyline.

Real Estate Buzz: Is Amazon looking at the Clise property? By MARC STILES Real Estate Editor Brokers and developers say we should add Clise Properties to the list of companies courting Amazon.com. Sources have been saying Amazon is in the market for scads of space, and may now be swinging some kind of deal for all or part of the Clise portfolio. * Would be totally awesome but only if they're maxing out the potential of the land and really building up!! |

True! I think it would be awesome to fill that area in, but I'm with you - hopefully they'd build UP!

The Clise family has been so adamant all these years that they have a specific vision for the property and that they'd hold onto the property until someone came forward who could build it out to that vision. So we have reason to believe that they'd only get into bed with Amazon if they were buying into that plan.
Would be very exciting even if it were just one block of their huge property! |

Wow, that would be great!
They should rename South Lake Union to Amazon City.

The Insignia towers and the 6th and Lenora project take up a couple blocks with residential.
Perhaps 2, 3, maybe 4 towers for Amazon office space, and then a couple more apartment towers mixed in? I'm sure it wouldn't be just me who'd need a change of pants if that goes through ![]() Edit: Also, lets not forget this area has some fairly major road construction coming after they finish digging the tunnel. Perhaps we're talking long range and this doesn't happen until after the Battery Street Tunnel is demolished.

I like the name Amazon City haha- makes me think of that 'Welcome to the Jungle' song lol.... But in all honesty I think once the Clise property is built out it will raise downtown as a whole up another notch...

Oh, and I don't think "long range" would be a problem for them. They've owned the land since the '20's. |

Several months ago, I attended a presentation where a tunnel guy said the BST was going to be filled in.

At most, it will be a tunnel to nowhere. The north end of it will be raised (filled in) to complete the street grid from Denny north to Republican.

I still think filling in that tunnel is very short-sighted.

That's how we do things in Seattle. Planning ahead would mean being efficient and practical.
