Soon enough, the departure of the MP 59 from Line 4 will be more rapid.

According to the French Wiki, it appears that the 2nd MP 89CC will be in operation on Line 4 soon.

Minato, would you happen to know if the train actually has already transferred to Line 4? (just not in passenger operation yet)

It's already in operation.

There have been some problems in the return loop in Porte d'Orléans that didn't permit the operation of MP89, which limited the operation of MP89, but it looks like these problems have been solved. (The rails had been moved and the MP89 would have "touched" the tunnel walls, so the rails had to be moved, again).

1 or 2 more MP89 should be in operation in october. The first MP05 for M1 should begin transport passengers during november (I think 3/11, but not confirmed).

Is someone who can explain me why was demolished tunnel des Batignoles at Paris metro, and which was the line which use it. I didn't find more informations on google and I'm a bit confused.

I'm really surprised seeing this photo with the the demolition of the tunnel and the metro who run there.

The tunnel des batignoles is on the train line from Saint Lazare so it is really a train tunnel not a metro tunnel. At first there was one tunnel then in 1913 you have 4 tunnel (i.e; 8 track). To increase the number of track arriving at saint Lazare they remove 3 tunnels around 1928 and in 1938 they added one track. Now there are 11 track arriving at the saint Lazare station.
The metro line 2 run under the boulevard des batignoles. It used to pass over the batignoles tunnel. Now it is still in a tunnel under the bridge over the track.

Some years ago I saw a picture of the construction of the metro tunnel where you saw the top of the vault of the train tunnels. didn't manage to find it now. Sorry

Thanks Minato for the correction Saint Lazard -> Saint Lazare.

Ko7 was faster than me.
The metro line 2 ran underground just above the Batignolles tunnels, so they added metal structures to support it.

Inside this metal bridge, there is the tunnel of the line 2.

PS : It is Saint Lazare, not Saint Lazard, I don't know why this mistake is very common.
I used to do it a lot.

I understand. When they demolished the rail tunnel they also demolished the old tunnel of metro.

Ok thanks a lot to ko7 and Minato ku for your explanation. These stories with the constructions of the Paris metro are really interesting.

No, they just put a big metal structure to support the tunnel. The Batignolles tunnels were demolished without interrupting the traffic of the line 2.

This photo confused me because in this photo it apper a demolition at metro tunnel but the metro tunnel was in that metal structure. Actually the didn't demolish nothing at metro but I think that it's something wrong with that photo.

After re-reading my big book about Paris metro to find the truth, you were right, they also demolished the old tunnel of the line 2. I was wrong.
Honestly, the history of Batignolles tunnel demolition didn't really interest me.

it's dificult to get decent pictures inside the metro. But this one from 2009 has fair quality. Some of the Paris metro reassembles the corresponding ones in St Petersburg & Moscow. That is spacious majestetic, grandiose marble maid stations.

This is an RER station (Haussmann Saint Lazare RER E), metro stations are not that spacious.
