I was lucky to see an MP89 at Saint-Michel in July along with an old MP-67 or 73 (correct me).

Unlike what is stated, the train with blue doors are not MP73 but MP59.
Those train still run as you know on line 4 and 11.
Wow, I like these older videos. Especially these rare glimpses of the MP 59 in blue and white. It's a shame this livery did not last long. I think they could have kept the white, but then again.....all green doors would not look good in my opinion.

Wow. I can imagine an MP 59, MP 73, and MP 89 running alongside each other on Line 4.

What I would like to see is the Sprague do another heritage run on Line 1 during the unveiling of the MP 05.

====

Speaking of the MP 89, there is a thread for transit in Laussane. For those who do not know, they have a fully automated metro line which utilize trains based off the MP 89 (the MP 89 TL).

Sorry to sound so negative. It is just how they painted some MP 59 in the blue and white and then a year later, introduced the green livery. But I am sure RATP had their reasons (including what Minato mentioned earlier with corresponding the livery with their current logo, etc)

I stumbled upon a site that is discussing the construction of the new Montrouge station & the MP 89 on Line 4. It is used as a reference on the French Wiki article of Line 4.

Yep. An article from "Le Parisien" about it.

On another subject, I noticed that the MF01 I took this morning on line 2 has longitudinal seats (only on one side) instead of "face to face" transverse seats. Regular MF01 trains have longitudinal seats but only next to the entrance and the space between carriages. The one I took has longitudinal seats between the two entrances of the carriage.

Has anyone already noticed that?

Maybe they are testing out a new configuration for future trains.

I wonder how many MP 05 will be put into service this month. I can't wait to see photos & videos!

A didn't get it. Is it a version of MP 89 or what? Looks vey much alike. MF 01 seems more up-to-date.

Neat photos Minato!

It seems that a few of the stations east of Gare de Lyon are very run down. (EX: That panel on the wall of Chateau de Vincennes)

It is indeed brand new. The design is based off the MP 89, so it looks identical to the MP 89 on the outside. The inside is very similar, aside from the red floor, white walls, and colored seating. There are also LCD screens and A/C.

The traction is similar to the MF 01.

In the design exterior yes but the interior of the MP05 is much more up to date than the MF01.
The inside is very bright while the MF01 can look a bit dark and the LCD screens are a big plus.
The colors look much better in the reality than in photo.

Trains speak in four langages : French, English, German and Japanese. ("mind the gap" and "the doors of the left side will open").

Neat video Minato!

And four languages for "mind the gap", etc. That's a first!

Also, just a question, does the MP 05 sound more like the MF 01 when it departs/arrives? Or is it something different?

I would say that it is something different.

Actually, from watching the video. It sounds like the MP 89, but much, much quieter.
