Interesting that I find this video of a Montreal Metro MR 63 (MP 59) train travelling through raccord tunnels, but never have I seen anything of any Paris Metro trains doing this. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Except to be revised, trains stay on their lines in Paris.
There are also very few video of behind the scenes for Paris metro in youtube.

The Metro Pole website is back up as of late June. Can we shout about the MP 89 five times?

http://www.metro-pole.net/

EDIT: When I wrote my blog post back in February about Line 12, I neglected to include anything about the incident at Notre Dame-de Lorette. I'm currently planning a blog post for next week that will mention this incident.

Also published a blog post regarding the uncertainty of the MP 89 on Line 4:

Austerlitz Viaduct renovation works.

The Central Paris elevated section of the line 5 is in renovation works until August 31.
The line 5 is limited at Bastille, the section between Bastille and Place d'Italie is closed.

M4, the new exits at Porte d'Orléans

Untitled by Alexandru Mircea, on Flickr

On the other side of the road it's the same but the hole has just got a cover, too:

Quite advanced at the surface, as can be seen, what's pushing the inauguration date to spring 2014 it's the connection of the exits to the quais. I don't know if they're also doing a tunnel under the road, between the two new exits.

It's the usual, nothing more nothing less. Don't forget these will be secondary exits, the majority of the users will still use the four (!) large exits as the other end. Also, with the prolongation of the line, this station will lose some of its users.

I see it as a very good job.

Still nothing mentioned of the fate of the MP 89CC, just pointing out a possible cascade of MP 89CA/MP 05 to Line 4.

MP89CA/MP05 to Line 4 and MP89CC to replace other rubber tyred metros on other lines..........Surely way too early to scrap the MP89CC!

Yes it does, but we will not know any official confirmation as to WHERE they go.

I know it's been mentioned in the past the the STIF wants trains for Line 6 that can handle traction in the snow and such. So if the MP 89 goes there, the tires must be changed.

Despite the difficulties associated with a Line 11 transfer, I think it would be more suitable to bring the MP 89 to Line 11 for Rosny, then scrap them if/when automation happens for Noisy Champs.

Just my 2 cents.

It will be hard, the MP89 can't be operated on line 6. The line 11 is the only hope to avoid a early withdrawal of the MP89 CC.

I agree. If the RATP can do a cascade from M1 to M11 for the MP 59 during the late 90s, early 2000s, it can certainly do a cascade from M4 to M11 for the MP 89, plus removal of one car per train.

I'm wondering if the "storage" track at Gare de Lyon can be used to transfer a train from M1 to M5, then off to M3 and then M11. Would anyone know of this?

I'm thinking that should the RATP and STIF decide to use M11 as the final point for the MP 89, that the trains would probably be overhauled at Fontenay first for mid-life refurbishment and shortening of cars. Then the cascade would commence after the the train has been refurbished. ~ Again, just my 2 cents.

Any movement of train between the line 4 and line 11 would be done by road.
The line 11 is not connected to any other rubber-tired lines and rubber-tired train can't run on steel line.

Ooooh, well I guess my thinking of just the tires being removed during transport isn't an option then.

I'm wondering now...was this the case when the MP 59 moved to Line 11?

MP89CC to M11 with the Rosny extension in 2019 when M4 is automated. Then retired c.2030 when M11 is automated with extension to Noisy-Champs

Ca roule!

It would make tons of sense, right? Yes.

A move M6 does not make sense to me.
