I second that!

Sadly though, the beauty may not last much longer...eventual automation and PSDs...

I sure hope they don't gut out this station...

Yeap...

If they would be smart enough they could redesign everything keeping the same aesthetics: it means, instead of a huge vault like a submarine, every platform space from wall to PSDs like a narrower submarine-like tube...

True. I think for the existing stations, they'll use half-height doors similar to Lines 1 (soon to be 4) and 13. The segment between Rosny and Noisy Champs is anyone's guess...

New York Times did an article and a video about the official musicians in Paris metro.

The newly automated line 1 is far from being reliable those last days. The service has been suspended at 6pm last week between Concorde and Nation, creating chaos at Châtelet.
Same thing this week, still at peak hour, between la Défense and Concorde. image hosted on flickr

I'm thinking the same.

Nonetheless, it's quite pitiful for a relatively new automated line to keep breaking down.

This is a picture of an information screen, those are everywhere in Paris metro.
Some stations have more recent models with flat screens.

Evening rush hours, today.
Traffic disrupted (slowed) due to a mechanical failure, earlier in the day.

I have seen a small graffiti on the wall of the Franklin D. Roosevelt eastbound platform of line 1, nothing very bad and very visible, it will be easily cleaned but this is sad.

He means the picture is not visible anymore. My fault, I have changed the privacy settings intentionally. Now it should be fixed

Because you've seen it just before I did something wrong with my settings. Which happened just a few minutes after my post. So it seems you're monitoring this forum 24h a day

Yes, it happens anywhere. Besides, I suppose it is the typical crappy tag graffiti, right? The point is how quick it is removed (Broken windows theory).

One can see a few clues of water intrusion (brown marks on the walls).

At least graffiti in the Metro is removed rather quickly in most cases. Try going to Brussels, Belgium where the trains are left tagged for weeks, months even! Idk if that has changed recently though.
