Paris regional transport authority approves €787m budget
08 Feb 2014

FRANCE: Paris regional transport authority STIF has approved an investment budget of €787m for 2014, including a new funding agreement for the extension of metro Line 14 to Mairie de Saint-Ouen.

The €450m cost of the project, including four new stations and a depot, is to be met by Société du Grand Paris (59%), the Ile-de-France region (19%), the city of Paris (20%) and the départements of Hauts-de-Seine (1%) and Seine Saint-Denis (1%). Main works are due to start later this year.

STIF has also approved a funding agreement for the second phase of the extension of Line 4 to Bagneux, including 2 km of tunnel and two new stations. Work is due to start in 2014 on the €178m project, funded by Ile-de-France (60%), central government (26%) and Hauts-de-Seine (14%). The first phase, running for 1·4 km from Porte d’Orléans to Mairie de Montrouge, opened in March 2013 (RG 5.13 p19).

Ile-de-France is to provide 70% of the €0·3m cost of preliminary studies for an extension of Line 10 from Gare d’Austerlitz to Ivry-sur-Seine, with the remainder to be provided by central government. During the coming months, STIF is to undertake public consultation on three route options for an extension of Line 1 from Château de Vincennes to Val-de-Fontenay, including the potential locations of three new stations.

Amongst the light rail projects being taken forward by STIF in 2014, studies are to be conducted for a further westward extension of line T1 from Colombes to Nanterre and Rueil-Malmaison, at a cost of €7m met by Ile-de-France (48%) and Hauts-de-Seine (52%). Work on a 4·3 km extension of line T3 from Porte de la Chapelle to Porte d’Asnières is now expected to start in 2015 for entry into service at the end of 2017.
And any news on line 12 northern extension?

While on the subject of M14, an interesting discussion has taken foot at Symbioz.

First, these images. Looks like plans for future station St Denis - Pleyel. Minato, can you please confirm this?

These come from the document below, which is in French. It was posted on the M14 Extension thread in Symbioz.

http://www.plainecommune.fr/uploads/media/CDT.pdf

Second, results of a recent public inquiry period (ended Nov, 2013) into the existing stations of M14. Can someone please explain what this was about?

Thanks!

Hmmmmm....looks like an ordinary Line 12 MF 67 on the inside (seating) but obvious to tell it was formerly on Line 9 due to the refurbished gray ends.

This is a study for the connection between St Denis - Pleyel metro station and RER D station of St Denis Stade de France.

This is to increase the capacity of existing stations.
With the extension the traffic of line 14 will greatly increase, the northern extension of line 14 includes the construction of new access to the platforms in the current stations.

Mayoral candidate plans Paris Métro ‘ghost station’ revival
11 FEB, 2014

All photos: Oxo architects + Laisné Architect

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet (NKM), one of the candidates hoping to become the new mayor of Paris, has presented her plans to redevelop the city’s abandoned metro stations.

Ahead of the municipal elections next month, NKM has released several images showing some of Paris Métro’s 11 ‘ghost stations’ re-imagined as new tourist and leisure destinations.

The images show different stations regenerated as a swimming pool, a bar and a club.

NKM said that she has been in contact with RATP and the Paris Fire Brigade to develop the project, which she has pledged to pursue if elected.

Impossible, it is not because stations are closed that there is no train running inside.
Arsenal is between Quai de la Rapée and Bastille on line 5, the station is closed but the trains of line 5 still use the tracks.

Minato ku, you are an awesome contributor (and moderator as well), and I totally appreciate all your effort, but I also had hard time understanding you last post With some share of educated guesses, it maybe should be understood as below:

------------

Impossible, just because stations are closed, it doesn't mean that there is no train running inside.

But you are still awesome

As far I understood from this movie, maden by RATP, it explanes the dreinage problems inside metro stations. AS it said, RATP is planned to spend 40 million euros in next 2 years for upgraging stations facilities from flooding at the following stations: Palais-Royal, Gare de Lyon, Bastille, Stalingrad, Sentier, Réaumur Sébastopol, Etoile, Concorde, Champs Elysées, Gare de l'Est, Luxembourg.

Yes, and in fact, almost none of these stations would qualify for such a deep renewal. Trains still use the tracks...even in stations like Molitor (as storage). So the tracks either still actively run trains or are used for storage.

The only thing I see as being beneficial is to use some of the ghost stations as heritage museums or meeting spaces. But those walls buffering the tracks ought to be soundproof.

Haxo may be the only station to really wreek a renovation, as it may end up being brought online as an actual station by 2035.

With this map you'll find stats for each station. Only the persons who validate a ticket in the station are counted, not the connecting passengers.

Click on "Données (= data) 2011, or Données 2012 on the right.

Choose a line. The cumulative incoming traffic appears on the right, for example the line 1: 213 439 331 persons per year.

All the data for 2012 in XLS format (Métro + RER at the bottom of the list) And here a PDF for 2011.

There are also some videos in the links.
