Richelieu - Drouot
Eastern ticket hall.
Notice the difference between the renovated side and the unrenovated side.
Both picture are taken from the same place but looking on different directions

Not renovated, leading to line 9

Renovated, leading to line 8

Porte de Versailles (line 12, in the southern part of Paris) ; this station was a part of the former Nord-Sud network :

The name of its stations were made with mosaics (while the CMP preferred enamelled plates) :

Châtelet
Platforms of the line 7 at Châtelet will close for renovation from 31 July to 23 October 2014.
The renovation at Châtelet is getting heavier.

The popular Subway Surfers game goes to Paris.

One train is of the classic RATP mint/white with the black front similar to the MF 67s of Line 9. The second train blue and looks nothing like the RATP trains. Both style trains have the mint "circle" of the RATP.

Now I understand why the escalators linking to line 14 at Chatelet are almost always break down.

Size matters: Red faces as Paris buys too-big metro escalators

Around 30 recently installed escalators in Paris Metro stations will need to be replaced because they are too wide, in an embarrassing blunder set to cost millions of euros to fix, transport chiefs admitted to a French newspaper Tuesday.
[...]
The infamous escalators, installed less than ten years ago, feature stairs ten centimetres wider than those normally used on the city’s metro system. The state-owned Paris public transport operator RATP had incorrectly thought that this would help boost capacity.
[...]
These constant repair jobs cost RATP tens of thousands of euros each year for each escalator. In comparison, the operator normally spends 100,000 every ten years on renovations for each of its normal-sized escalators.

Now, the operator has decided to cut its losses and will begin replacing the faulty escalators, located on metro lines 14, 6 and 13, between now and 2015 – a measure set to cost at least six million euros, RATP’s maintenance chief Olivier Saiz told the newspaper...

Are we facing the same kind of article than for the Sncf/Rff story of the platforms and the width of the new trains, or this time we actually have to do the facepalm?

According the RATP, claims about the too large size are false.
Escalators are simply defective, too fragile for the metro. The RATP will change of supplier.

Has any of you been to Haxo or Porte Molitor?

If so:
Is it as interesting as it seems?
Did you run into any trouble whilst getting there?

Looks like there's still some work going on to mitigate all the water intrusion...

Yes, also at Pyramide and Chatelet, curently the heaviest renovation work on line 14 are at Chatelet.
Other stations will see work as well with the extension, they will create or improve the access to the line.

Shoot-out in Paris metro after robber targets gold coin shop

A robber smashed into a rare coin dealership in central Paris, made off with two trays of gold pieces and then staged a shoot-out in a crowded metro station before being wounded and nabbed by police.

Coin dealer Claude Burgan said he had been opening his shop after lunch on Saturday (local time) when he was shoved to the ground and hit in the head by a thief who pushed his way in.
Mr Burgan, his head and shirt still wet with blood following the incident, told AFP he managed to lock the thief in the boutique.
"To escape he had to shoot at least twice into the glass window. He left with two trays of gold pieces worth about 100,000 euros," Mr Burgan said, standing on shards of glass outside the boutique.
The thief then fled into the nearby Grands Boulevards metro station in a crowded, tourist-heavy area, where police officers noticed him and began their pursuit, leading to an exchange of fire.
"The criminal took out his gun in the train," a witness said, adding that he heard at least 20 shots during the exchange with police.
Police said the man was apprehended after being shot in the arm during the shoot-out.
A spokesman said he was not in critical condition.
The suspect was already known to law enforcement for prior armed robberies, he said.

I'f you're living abroad, of course it's not a very useful advice... then you can search in publications like "Chemins de fer" (published by the AFAC), and the "Revue Générale des Chemins de Fer" (RGCF).

I think I have some drawings of the MP89 but i'm afraid it's not very accurate... I will upload this (if I can find it !).
Thank you very much for your answer and sorry for my late response! I'll try to find the publications of "Chemins de fer", because I'm not living in France. I found out that there is an article about the delivery of the MF2000 in "Chemins de fer" #501, but it's dated to december 2006 and, I think, also hard to find...

Have you found some drawings of the MP89? Don't mind about it's not too accurate for me! It's better than nothing for me!

^traffic on the line had to be stopped and passengers evacuated because of the line passing right over the place where police was using heavily teargas against the pro-Palestine manifestants.
