Due to a standoff at a grocery store in Porte de Vincennes, the M1 Porte de Vincennes and Saint-Mande stations are currently not being served.

@HARTride 2012: Thanks for the updates, I'm sure French people on the forum have something or someone else to attend to other than some forum.

Well, I was hoping that someone had a local perspective on how the situation affected transit service. But you are right, most probably were either trying...to go about their normal business, or were directed to flee for safety.

Okay, so I heard on Symbioz that preliminary work is underway for M4 to Bagneux. I assume just all prep work?

It's been several months that preliminary work started.
This is the displacement of the pipes, electric networks... the displacement of everything underground which is located on the metro extension path.

The line 9 is closed between Pont de Sèvres and Trocadero, this weekend.

Interesting contrast between the MF 67 placard and the MF 01 placard.

I think the difference is just the lighting, but they used the same sticker.

Right, and that lighting gives the placard a slight contrast to the MF 67.

From Railway Gazette:

Paris awards €2bn metro train framework contract
30 Jan 2015

FRANCE: On behalf of Île-de-France transport authority STIF and Société du Grand Paris, on January 30 Paris public transport operator RATP awarded Alstom a 15-year framework contract potentially worth more than €2bn for the supply up to 217 MP14 rubber-tyred metro trainsets.

An initial firm order worth around €500m covers 35 eight-car trains for Line 14. This is expected to be followed by a second order for up to 37 trains to support planned extensions of the line. Further options would cover trains for lines 1, 4, 6, and 11 and the Grand Paris programme which groups lines 15 to 18

I dont understand. I thought that everybody agreed that line 14 was the very last one to be build with rubber-tyre technology. So why are they refering to line 15 as well?

They probably changed their opinion regarding taking steel weels, i don't know if there's explaination for it to be found in official (online available) STIF/SGP documents..
Might be that some of our very friendly, helpful and usually quite well-informed french co-forum visitors might have the answer or at least A thoroughly argumented reason why stif & sgp made another decision.

Or it could be a bad reporting?
They also speak of line 1 but I don't see why they would change the rolling stock of line 1.

The call for tender for lines 15 to 17 is different from that of the MP14.
The line 1 can need new trains if the traffic increases, despite the arrival of the 7 MP05 from line 14.

Agreed, especially after the extension to Val de Fontenay opens. There may be a need for a few MP 14 railcars.

The sticking point in all this remains..what will happen to the MP 89CC from the 4?

My prediction remains that they will wind up going to the 11 for the opening of the Rosny extension and live out the remainder of their working lives there. Once the line is extended to Noisy-Champs and is automated, then the MP 89CC will be retired out.

I simply can't envision the MP 89CC going to the 6. My feeling is that either they go to the 11, or they get retired out too early.

The RATP envisages to put MP89cc on line 6. It's certain, line 11 will have MP14cc/ca5. The TC3 (MP14cc/ca5) concerns 80 trains. It's not enough for lines 6 and 11. And line 11 will need new MP14 trains for the extension to Noisy-Champs.
