Not yet.

The conversion to eight-car trains will occur when the extension to Orly is near-complete. At that point, the planned MP 14 railcars are set to take over.

I don't get why they close the line during the day, can't they do the work at night?

No they can't : they were replacing a turnout. Such a work can not be done in one night.

The stations in Paris are not as deep as in Moscow but some stairs are very impressive.

Télégraphe (L11) :

Abbesses (L12), under the hill of Montmartre :

"You've been warned !"

Abbesses is a typical Nord-Sud station :

Because work was too big to be done in just one night.

Corvisart (L6) (warning 56k !), pic taken during a hike last sunday :

The red and yellow sign on the left (on the traffic light) means that we are following a hiking trail (21 km between Montsouris and La Villette... never seen such a weather in Paris in november ; today, the sun is still there !)

What's the status of the various transit modes due to the ongoing incidents? I heard all city center transit modes are suspended.

But nobody really wants to take the subway today... most of the public places in Paris will stay closed today and we are all asked to stay at home ; my flat is in Levallois, near the station Louise Michel (L3) ; it's 9:15 am there, I justed looked at my window and the streets are totally empty ; that's totally unusual on saturday.

No trail today... and no pics too, sorry...

Yesterday, 11 PM.

On the right, Champ de Mars station (RER C) is illuminated.

No other words necessary, I think...

Stop illuminating only, wake up, be men and fight back.

As for metro, what preacaution does the RATP make in this situation? Just closures when the police demands it?

Yes. it happens currently several times a day.

Yesterday, the station République was closed for three hours. This station is very close to the site of several of the attacks. As a result the circulation was interrupted on five lines.

In the evening, the western part of the line 3 was closed... My line. The only solution for me after work to go back to home was to walk.

The following pics were taken at Porte Maillot (L1) - It's an attempt to drain water.

Botzaris (L7 / L7bis), one of the few stations were we can see two different models of rolling stock (MF 77 and MF 88).

Place d'Italie
Big Star Wars advert

There is even a train with a special Star Wars livery on line 6 but I haven't seen it yet.

Paris had numerous urban rail projects long before the actual metro.

I guess they must remove the bins in the stations for security reasons. It is a wonderful place to hide a bomb and so make a terrorist act. There are none in former USSR countries since 1979, when a terror act happened in the underground. I guess safety must be over comfort

In the Barcelona Metro all bins have only a metal bar that holds transparent plastic bags. Perfect solution.
