That's nice. I din't know so much construction was going on on the Paris network. Looks like the metro will start going into the suburbs more now. What will be the names of the stations on the M13 extension or will they be as on the map?

Love the videos, how fast does the Paris Metro go between stations?

I really want to visit Paris mostly to see if Parisians are as rude as everyone makes out (but I love it in a weird sorta way) and to see what the metro is like. Eiffel Tower? Bleh, there are so many bloody photos of the thing, there really is no point!

In tunnel Paris metro is not very fast for one reason, the lengh of tunnel.
Paris has one of lowest interstation lenght in the world, in some case it can be only 230m, but the average is between 400m and 600m.

The longest interstation (3 km) is between Chatelet and Gare du Lyon in the line 14.

Thirty-five people, whose a pregnant woman seriously reached, were poisoned by the emanations released by an accidental fire this Sunday July 29 on line 13, A break shoe took fire near 9 a.m and put fire at a car between the Varenne and Invalides station, The fire was quickly controlled.

Same with the Tube, the sub surface lines are particularly slow, cause the stations are so close together, though once in the suburbs the trains can really belt it.

I've seen Line 14 and it was incredibly fast! The rubber tyres help with the acceleration/breaking and the stations are further apart.

I don't think we are that rude. Most of Parisian are reasonably friendly. The perception of rudeness is very different depending on the country you come from. A lot of people I know who come from UK, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Israel and Lebanon found Parisian friendly while visitors coming from the US or Asia may have a different opinion because of their cultural differences.
But, for having spend sometime in NYC, It was really not obvious for me that New Yorkers were more polite than Parisians, specially in the subway at peak hours..

Usually British people are seen as being overly polite, so everywhere is "rude" to us. If someone barely budges you at rush hour they'll say "sorry" but not loudly enough to attract attention, i've noticed in most countries they don't do this

I guess maybe some are brainwashed into believing that Paris is some romantic city where everyone are passionate lovers and wear the best clothes and eat the best food and if the food isn't good enough that is the biggest insult ever! When it isn't that way.
