That's no formwork but the supporting structure. Removing it would be rather daft.

Is'nt Line 9 supposed to eventually have the MF 2000 trains?

Coffrage/carrossage in French.. maybe "metal claddings" would be a better translation ??

Here they are in La Muette (they've removed them, which is good IMO 'cause the original white tilework looks much better) :

Before (see the red & white metal structures):

During the renovation:

I see. Cause on Wikipedia, it is noted that the MF 2000 will eventually run on Line 9. But then again, it also noted that delivery will continue through 2015, so that's still a while away.

So basically, they removed the "archway" look and reverted back to the "original" walls?

That's right but the next line to get them will be line 5, which is the only one to have non-refurbished MF67 stock trains (well, at least when all the MF2000 will be delivered on line 2). In my opinion the line 5 MF67F is the ugliest rolling stock that we have in Paris.

The next line to get the MF2000 will be the line 5. It will occur between 2010 and 2012 (see here).

The MF2000 for line 9 will be delivered between 2012 and 2016 (see here, sorry but it's in french).

Yeah !! That's what I meant, and that's what "I was waiting for" 20 years (i.e.: back to the original aspect of the station) !!!!

I wonder why they didn't retain the original signage and (ad) framing of the old art nouveau style.....

So do I !

Maybe simply because almost all of the 35+ stations of the line are already in that "style" ??

I heard that the first MF01 train for the line 5 was delivred but it will not run on commercial service before 2011.
Anwyay the driverless automation of the line 1, the new rolling stock, the extention, the new signalisation system... all these things are in late.
A delay of ten years, even more.

By exemple the first time I saw a rendering of the MF2000, it was before I move to the Reunion island in early 2000.
Maybe even late 1999.

It was this one in a rail magazine.

10 year later, we still see old MF67 trains in the line 2.

I hear that there's been many problems with the production and delivery of the MF 2000, especially from being that four different manufacturers built this train and there was very poor colaboration between companies. That in my view should not have happened. The trains run good no doubt, its just getting them built and out on the rails have been a nightmare.
