Thank you Minato Ku for this little discovery trip of Châtelet - les Halles.
There are huge crowds everywhere...

How many platforms in the station? I would count 7 in the RER hub + 2x6 for metro stations + an extra one for line 11 terminus.
That's makes a total of 20 platforms.

It's an Impressive figure for a station which only serves public transports (no intercity rail service).

Maybe because there are two stations at la Fourche (one above the other, and 3 platforms), unlike the other stations of the central section ?

^ Chatelet Les Halles is a monster of a station. I personally hate this station and avoid it whenever I can! If you don't like crowds, avoid the RER A and B platforms at rush hour...

I remember when I first used Châtelet-Les Halles; it's up there with Bank/Monument and Times Square on the largest rapid transit interchanges in the world.

Je me rappelle la première fois que j'ai utilisé Châtelet - Les-Halles ; c'est une station complexe et elle est aussi grande que Bank/Monument et Times Square.

It will hard to beat Opera, Auber - Havre Caumartin - Haussmann Saint Lazare - Saint Lazare -Saint Augustin.
Especially when even solely Opera, Auber, Haussmann Saint Lazare and Saint Lazare are already big subway station.

True, those interconnected stations together make a large intermodal center in of itself
