I found a recent video of Cluny la Sorbonne with a little part inside a MF67 of the line 10.

I see.

Why the extensive refurb on Line 3? Were these older trains?

Étoile

Question, in this video, I hear the MP 89 departing via Line 1. I immediately thought to myself, how can that be? They run on two different tracks. Are the platforms for Line 1 & Line 6 awfully close? Or is it something else.

Exactly the platforms of the lines 1 and 6 are really close in Charles de Gaulle Etoile.
From the plaform of the line 6, you can see the line 1.

Wow, so I was right. Thanks Minato.

Speaking of Line 1, Would you happen to know when PSD installation on Etoile & Bastille begin?

The installation underway in Nation, I heard that some panel began to be installed in Bastille.
Still nothing in Etoile.

As you can see in my picture, the previous station (Maubert Mutualité) is visible from the platform (Cluny-La Sorbonne).

It is not the case for Odéon on the other side because of a curve.

Exactly! I like Line 6 because of the viaduct sections. It's one of the key reasons why it was converted to rubber-tyred operation in the 70s.

Many subway network have large overground section.
The majority of London underground is above the ground.

Paris metro has only 16.6 km above the ground on the 213 km of the network. (8%).
Lines with the most kilometers overground

- : 6.1 (13.7 km)
- : 2.8 km (22.1 km)
- : 2.5 km (14.6 km)
- : 2.4 km (24.3 km)
- : 2.2 km (12.3 km)
- : 0.6 km (16.6 km)

This year, the line 8 will add 1 km above the ground to the network with the opening of Créteil - Pointe du Lac station.

A one year old picture (18 March 2010) of Créteil - Pointe du Lac station taken by CédricGravelle, wikipedia

Nearly all of the Chicago "L" is above ground, only 2 lines have underground segments, Blue Line & Red Line, underneath Downtown Chicago.

When is Pont du Lac station set to open?
