PM for such things and write in english in international sections.

Besides, you can right-click every photo, see "properties" and you have the adress of the site, where picture is from. Plus there are names of authors on most of pics, I don't see a problem.

Yes I can, but I don't have to. Polish law defines it strictly - You have to obey this rules:

http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prawo_cytatu
Quote:

Podglad zdjecia:
http://rail.phototrans.eu/14,58,0.html

Widac wyraznie pole "Autor".

Just a little. Some of them, like Katowice, are actually frightening.

Next step towards HSR in Poland

Some news, it's from 03.03.2010 but it's worth to write about.

Polish Rail Lines (company which operates the rail infrastrucure) signed a contract with Spanish company SENER INGENIERIA Y SISTEMAS S.A. It's about 'Technical Conditions for design, construction and modernisation of rail infrastructure's rail lines for speed up to 350 km/h' roughly translating... This should be ready in for next healf year or so. It will be carried out based on technical specification and experiences from Spain. Also PLK applied for 100% financing of this feasability studies

So there is a chancce that 'Y' line will be constrcuted for such high standards.

It looks like the Krakow Train station renovation will actually happen. Does anyone have any pictures of what it should look like or details of how it will tie all these things together (access to tram, bus stations, etc). When I have been there, nothing seems to interconnect and it is like a big maze.

http://krakow.gazeta.pl/krakow/1,357..._Krakowie.html

So for EURO 2012 Poznan and Krakow Central Stations will be a big construction side?

More news on the Krakow Station...Supposedly it will be complete before 2012, but frankly, just knowing it will be done in my lifetime is good news.

Indeed it's the opposite. You have just seen a few pics. The last loco was designed over 25 years ago, then they just purchased some Siemens ones.

In some places the state of the tracks starts to be way better than the rolling stock.

Sorry, sad but true.

Regarding this:

This is a clear example of why PKP (the state railway, esp. its administration) must simply go. Those grandpas are unable to understand basic problems. Look at the track numbering: such an upgrade would be an ideal moment to get rid of the idiotic "Peron" numbering (i.e. two tracks sharing the same number), and replace it with track numbers. But they simply didn't notice that...

Were safety issues addressed? I don't think so. It still seems that there are a lot of areas where one can hide behind, ideal for homeless bums to urinate.

Judging by your exclamation mark (!) you have obviously never dealt with German business practices.

Do you know what "langsam" and "morgen" mean in German? They are the most common responses to "when is this thing going to be finally done?", and they mean "f** off, I'm at work", and "mańana", respectively. Just less vulgar.

So don't be surprised that Berlin-Frankfurt/O took only 13 years to complete 70% of the task. It's quite usual. It will be done finally. At some point. But don't worry, the date is definitely known.
