I doubt it. At the moment there aren't even any trains running into Zakopane during the off-season.

^ Part of Łódź metropolitan railroad system.

For now 2 lines are opened, waiting for the rest. The goal is:

This scheme does not include future (~2020) tunnel under the city centre with 2 stations between Łódź Fabryczna and Łódź Kaliska that will function similiarly to the metro system.

I am surprised Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna doesn't reach Piotrków Trybunalski (second biggest city of the Łódzkie voivodeship), Tomaszów Mazowiecki (fourth biggest) and Skierniewice.

Better looking than in the initial visualisations. This will be a nice station.

...and the missing link there, not even planned any more (as far as I know), is a new line between Leczyca on the line nr 16 (red one) and the intersection of two other lines nearby, near Ponetów. Some 32 kilometres to the North-West of Leczyca the line nr 3 (E20 Warsaw - Poznan - Kunowice) crosses the line number 131, once very important link between the Silesian region in the South and Gdynia / Gdansk in the North. These 32 kilometres would dramatically improve the communication of Lodz city with the Northern and Western Poland, but well... the Government is very defensive about planning any new rail links in Poland.
The Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway mentioned above is just a sole exception.

I sincerely hope this project has not hit a serious snag. From thenews.pl, released yesterday. http://www.thenews.pl/1/12/Artykul/1...d-with-defects

Quote:
High-speed Pendolino trains delivered 'with defects'

State-owned railways PKP has rejected four high-speed Pendolino trains delivered so far by the Alstom manufacturer, but says the service should still be up and running by mid-December.

PKP Intercity, the long-distance passenger railway unit of PKP that will operate the trains, has found minor defects in each of the Pendolinos delivered so far, with lights and communication systems not working properly in some cases.

So far PKP Intercity has tested four out of a total of 20 high-speed trains on order. “Unfortunately we were unable to accept any of the four trains we were presented with,” Marcin Celejewski, CEO of PKP Intercity told the Puls Biznesu finance daily. “I hope that we receive fully operational units next time," he said.

PKP maintains that the Pendolinos should still be carrying passengers on Polish tracks starting from 14 December this year, as originally scheduled and is speeding up the testing procedure and extend it from weekend to the whole week. Nine trains will be tested by the end of October: but if those units are rejected, the December launch will become less likely.

The Pendolinos will operate on the route from Gdynia to Warsaw and on the high-speed CMK Central Rail Line from Wrocław/Kraków/Katowice to Warsaw.
I'm just curious what will happen to those four Pendolinos now? Will they be returned for repairs, and then return to PKP later?

I wouldn't bother with that kind sensations. The press is producing fictive sensational stories about Pendolinos and especially this one who written it made some articles of which at least one was total bull crap and publisher was forced to post apologies... .

yes the Polish media likes to stress people out with sensationalism and outright distortions of the truth, it's very common and very unnerving and one reason why I never read certain media outlets anymore.
