Somewhere I read or heard sand that Poland does not want to operate the railway on its territory the train 118/119 EC Comenius, because the economic crisis. What is the truth.

Yes it's Polish built, they plan on doing some high speed train too but it will be shown maybe at end of this year or maybe in 2010 or even later
For me Acatus from PESA looks better:

(they are technicly same just have other front ends)

Poland: Contract for 20 Elf EMUs to be signed tomorrow
Tomorrow, December 1, the local government of Mazovia region will sign a contract with PESA Bydgoszcz for delivery of 20 new EMUs, named Elf, to Koleje Mazowieckie(Masovian Railways).

During a press conference, that will take place after the contract is signed, announced will be routes, on which the new vehicles will operate.

20 new Elf EMUs will be delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie between January and December 2011

I have a question:
Is the train connection Gdansk - Kaliningrad (et v.v.) reliable?
I know that it takes almost 6 hours, once a day only, but would like to know more details like:
- how many cars?
- how many passengers (crowded or empty)?
- is the passenger load dependent on the (week)day?
- seasonal variances?
I am planning a possible trip in September 2010
