To me, it is not bad at all, but not as good as the original.

Oh... I see. One has to look several times to notice, that the basic design of both renders is more or less the same, only with reductions to the top. It's an optical illusion: on the old render it looks as if the fins would overhang towards the viewer, and on the new one you can easily presume that the tallest slab would be vertical when seen from the right side. In fact the top bends sidewards (resp. backwards) on both renders!

Btw. the design of the lower and middle floors is more differentiated now, especially with that bulge around lv 14.

the render by Imre has about 75 regular floors which may be inhabitable plus the top structure with a height of lets say another 10 floors to the top plus about 5 basement levels. So even if the render by Imre is the new one this building still has ~90 floors which is still veery enough.

CTBUH is not always reliable. Just like Emporis.

Let's just wait until a Dubai forumer confirms the height and floor count.

I don't know about the render. Maybe the articles just used a render of the old design. The reason why I say this is because that price tag is way too small for 90 floors. For 30 or 40 floors maybe.
Maybe an email to Arabtec would be the best.

It is a shorter version, but design is the same (IMO), just another angle.

Hell, I'd have a huge wild party if a skyscraper like that came to Baltimore. As it is, our next tallest building project is on hold, much like everything else on this side of the sea.

well, i compared the designs, and the new render is about 30 meters shorter IMO.
as you can see, they cut some floors out.

That's the 5 floors reduction from 90 to 85

Agreed. Shorter or not, it's still better than having nothing at all on that plot!

The CTBUH page for DAMAC Heights has been updated to reflect the latest figures from Aedas. Sorry for the delay. We will try to get more information on the project in the near future.

Any corrections to the CTBUH database are welcome if they are from reliable sources, such as viewing elevation drawings accurately. Contact e-mail: [email protected]

If its only 420 meter, then it will not reach the top 10 tallest list. By completion, it will be lucky to stay in top 15!

by using typical 3.65m per floor in dubai. ive worked out theres about 75 floors before it goes the shinny fin. 282m, then 50m fin section, so i think max 330m?
