Do you have a map of the future metro system?

Hm. That's quite extensive... a nice dream.
Do you guys also have a plan to build such a network? For example in the next 2-3 years, how many stations/lines do you think will be built?

Next 2-3 years? None, I must say.

The plans of course exist, they've existed for at least a century but realization is another matter. Hopefully, something will come out of the currently on-going negotiations with the French.

Egis, Alstom plan Belgrade metro line in Serbia
Published: 21-Jul-2010

France-based infrastructure firms Egis and Alstom will sign a contract to devise the design and masterplan for the first stretch of the Belgrade Metro on September 1, 2010.
The cost of preparing the plan, estimated at EUR4 million ($5 million), will be paid by the French government. The study, estimated to take between six and twelve months, will determine where the first line of the Belgrade metro should be placed and where and how – underground or by means of a bridge, the line will cross the Sava River.

The construction project of the metro could start in 2012. A total of 36 kilometers of lines and 55 stations that would serve 660,000 people a day, via both underground and above-ground sections, are envisioned at the end of the project. Completion is estimated to take over two decades.

Sounds like Romania.
Hopefully in RO will kick some a** and finish some new much needed lines in the next 2-3-5 years. Best of luck to you, Belgrade deserves a metro system!

They just announced a new estimate that it will cost 40 instead of 33 million euros.

Thank you

Bucharest by the way, has done a great job building its metro system, which is quite extensive already even by the standards of richer, Western European cities. I haven't had the chance to use it yet but from what I've seen in photos & videos, both the stations and rolling stock look quite eye-catching & appealing.

If we manage to build anything resembling Bucharest's metro by 2025, I'll be happy.

Not that bad considering that Ada bridge cost ten times that ammount.

They already built one station during the 1995. It's called Vukov Spomenik. I am not familiar with the details why they halted the progress. There was some sort of embargo imposed, but I think they could had ordered the trains from Russians just as Sofia... Here is the pic.

Vukov Spomenik station was never meant to be part of the metro. It was instead built as a part of the regional rail system, regional metro. The real Vukov Spomenik metro station was supposed to be built (and probably will be built that way) in a shallow tunnel, with the present one used the way it is used today - as a Beovoz regional rail line.

Therefore, basically, Belgrade doesn't have any metro stations yet. What it's got is a city and regional railway.

Completion of the main span of the Ada bridge today was a good reason for politicians to enjoy some photo-ops

What will the metro lines be used for on the bridge before the metro is completed?

Not necessarily new tram lines, just re-routing of old ones
