This is interesting...looks like the time has come to add the finishing touch to Belgrade's newest bridge - over the next few days, the pylon of the landmark Sava river bridge will reach its final height of 200 meters once the last pieces of it are hoisted into place by crane...

It will thus become the second tallest structure in the city, only surpassed in height by the few meters taller Avala comm. tower:

And here is the problem - which roads is or isn't a motorway. The section between Dobanovci and Bubanj Potok via the centre of Belgrade is signed as a motorway, but there are so many junctions on it. I don't know the Serbian law, but in most of big cities roads led through its centres aren't motorways – such function fulfil bypasses.

Yes, but all those junctions (or at least the majority of them) are motorway standard junctions. There are no in-level crossings etc.

Impressive indeed. But cursedly uncomfortable for pedestrians. There will be choice: waiting for elevator (if it works) or pace dozens of steps up and down
IMO totaly annoying.

how else would you bring people to station if not using elevator and stairs?

It is tangential motorway and it is signed as motorway with green signs.

O.k., O.k! It is signed as a motorway, so it is a motorway. It's a sufficient argument. But I wanted to start the discussion. I wrote, that I don't know the Serbian law. In Poland, for example, the minimal distance between junctions is (in a built-up area) 5 km and only exceptionally - 3 km.

Well of course it's not "true" motorway, especially with regular traffic jams and shit.
That's why BG bypass is being built.

It is regular motorway. Amount of traffic doesn't influence motorway standard.

As always, you're missing the point.

It's all those intersections that are questionable. They're literally everywhere, esp on the New Belgrade side...

As far as I know, there is no sign indicating end of motorway thru the city ... however the reality is that
merging traffic, slow is it down a bit,
and pure volume of traffic that is merging just before the Gazelle Bridge regularly creates bottleneck (simply there is not left enough space for merging to go smothly)
and at some sections the speed limit is limited to 80 km/h (by sign)

It is a compromise of motorway and city street.

I have never seen that sign end of motorway. And the signs are all green, they wouldn't be if it wasn't motorway.

He said there is no sign. And there isn't. It's just that there are too many intersections, not in-level but still. It slows the traffic down too much.

I know what he said I am just confirming that I also haven't seen it.

Too many intercessions is typical for tangential city motorways, but they are still motorways.
