In the length of around 1000 m, there are two roads, railway tracks and the underpass of the interchange, so I think raising the beltway over that is a good idea.

Maybe the wider stance makes the structure more stable, so less building material is needed. We would need a civil engineer's opinion.

Too many intercessions is typical for tangential city motorways, but they are still motorways.
This motorway is not so strange. It is a motorway in the city, but a motorway with the signs and everything. The motorway in Belgrade is similar to E4 Essingeleden in Stockholm. Both are going in the city and both have junctions very close togehter.

E 75 is the major motorway in Serbia, from Hungary to Macedonia. It has 2 tracks on each side until it reaches Leskovac, then it is a one lane on each side. It takes much longer when you're on the one lane piece of the motorway especially when you have a truck or a slow yugo/lada in front of you(unless you see this sign which I didn't see often)-

The remaining ~15km of this section should be opened sometime by the middle of next month.

Yep. Full profile motorway. Except the Beska bridge, which isn't finished yet.

Yeah, but I believe they will renovate the existing bridge once the new one is available to traffic. Which means that full 2x2 capacity will likely be available later, say mid- late 2012.
