Any particular reason why they decided to built this road with no middle crash-barriers / center-divider?!?

I really don't understand why the most important safety issue is not built on that super expensive viaduct / bridge complex.I guess is not that much expensive,it is rather that money ended up in someone's pocket. In US, I' ve never seen motorway without barrier(median).

Who said that's a motorway?

It's a simple road connection between Pozeska street & Hippodrom intersection:

By looking at the photo, I believe it shows part of the road that is marked with blue circle at the image bellow.
I hope now will be easier to understand why there is no median barrier on the road.

Still I've seen plenty of inner city boulevards with middle crash-barriers. Especially on viaducts (where the road gets more easily slippery) and with curves. It's a safety feature that's not expensive but saves lives. I knew very well where it is and what it is when I posed the question. The speed limit is 50, but you can't convince me nobody is speeding in Serbia, especially on new wide roads

Last Sunday I drove on E70, the road between Timisoara (RO) and Belgrade (SRB). The pictures from the Romanian part of the road can be found here: [RO] Romanian Motorways and Highways • România - autostrăzi şi drumuri

Pictures from the Serbian part of the road:

Entering Serbia at the border crossing:

The road is 2+1 before the border:

After Vrsac the road is quite good, but there are some villages on the way where you have to drive slow...

Some of the signs are with Pancevo, instead of Belgrade. I would have prefered to use just Belgrade because that's the main city on the way.

On question: the general speed limit inside villages is 50 km/h (see the border pic). At almost every village entrance there was the 60 km/h sign. Is the limit 60 km/h untill you see that "urban" area sign?

Entering Pancevo:

Nice pics. How much time did it take you to drive from Timişoara - Beograd?

Before the government made changes to the speed limits in Serbia, it use to be 60km in urban areas, now it is 50km, but there are still many signs that say 60km, a little confusing ...

Entering the semi-expressway from Pancevo:

I was happy that I will drive on this expressway (I was looking for a 100 km/h speed limit sign, but it was just 80).

Unfortunatelly, after leaving Pancevo... the speed limit decreased at 60 km/h and there were some traffic lights on it

Entering Belgrade

Danube bridge ahead:

I might post more pics from Belgrade this evening

Yes, the stupidity of our traffic regulations and the government is never ending apparently...

I'm not really sure how much I did when I went there because I also stopped in Vrsac. At the return trip I did 2h30m between A and B, while driving legally (SRB: 60 km/h + 100 km/h; RO: 65 km/h + 110 km/h)

Sometimes Picasa has some problems and some people can't see the pics. Try refreshing the page few times. If that doesn't work try later or try to look directly at the album.

I saw an expressway sign there, but I didn't go on it. I will publish that pic later.

But I think it's not completed. There is about 3 km of that expressway.

Since you really ask for it, here it is, a picture from the entrance on that bypass:

You can see the expressway sign there, and the crossed sign to Vatin, which means that the bypass is partialy opened, but not entirely yet. I have to say that I had no ideea where Vatin is before looking on google maps. They should also sign Timisoara or Romania there.

Some pics with city streets in Belgrade...

What happened with this building? Was it bombed in 1999?

Very clever solution that I've seen on some city streets: reversible lanes

Entering the urban motorway that goes through Belgrade before Gazela Bridge:

On Gazela Bridge:

Nice urban motorway:
