It seems they've built a temporary village for the Chinese workers.

It's very unusual. Many Serbian companies work on projects like this in the same manner across the world but we never had it in Serbia. Those Serbian companies can't work in Serbia because Serbia can't finance big projects on it's own and to get a loan you need to hire companies from where the loan came from.

Personally, I'm fine with that - and it's not as if Serbian companies aren't taking part in this project, they are, according to the contract, at least 45% of all work will be carried out by local firms.

"Ratko Mitrovic" is building the access roads for example - about 21km will be built in total.

While at the same time, it looks like it has died down on Subotica bypass, though there are promises that things will pick up once again come September....

A 2-0 work system on a busy urban motorway. Sounds like the recipe for traffic havoc.

Just two sections 1+2 km, new pavement, shouldn't take long.
City traffic is lightest in summer (I guess), schools closed, people on vacations.

Greetings from Bulgaria! Those are nice pictures, I'm glad that you're advancing and soon we will have a good connection between Turkey,Bulgaria,Serbia and the rest of Europe, It's good for the economics on the balkans, something personally i think its great because i often go to Pirot and Nis for walks, cafe and food shopping because your products are really good and cheap and the cashiers are always possitive!
What i especially like are the markings on the road, they are quite wide.

You gotta be joking, right?I was born and raised in Pirot, and going to shoping to BG,good prices, nice people. We should switch.
Road markings are the worst ,look at those outer lines how paled they are,and this is international motorway.

This is akward For the markings i was talking about the first picture of the reconstruction work on the motorway through Belgrade. The food i buy has no additional antioxidants, acidity regulators, and concentrates and its on a good price. The milk smells like real milk, the yogurt is like from my childhood, the cheese and "kashkaval" too. All those products in Bulgaria are categorised as Bio and are totally overpriced because of the EU.

Really? Can't you get organic stuff from bulgarian countryside?

You can, if you have relatives or friends, but it's still not like buying it from a shop, where you have products on stock, unlike countryside where you have to "make an order" for the next week for example, overall it's just not worth the nerves. For example 1 kilo of bio cheese is 17 leva (which is about 1000 dinars). Some sausages, locals from Pirot said that yours, are without spices, unlike ours and i agree with that. Juices are too "real", unlike ours. And i have to say that it's like that from when we've entered the EU. The only real products in my fridge are from Serbia and from a local russian shop i have founded, which are relatively cheap and with good quality. I don't know how's the situation in Belgrade or the other big cities. And i'm sorry for spaming

Belgrade has a lot of bridges and they are really looking nice Where are the money for the highways from? The national budget or loans, because we're building a lot of highways in Bulgaria thanks to the EU, but without it our economic wouldn't have had the capacity to substain such a vast expansion of the highways.

For Corridor X the loans are from European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, World Bank and Hellenic Plan for the Economic Reconstruction of the Balkans.

EIB: 384 M€
EBRD: 150 M€
World Bank: 388 M$
HiPERB: 100 M€

For Belgrade-Požega motorway a loan of 300 M€ from Azerbaijan for their company to build Ljig-Preljina section, and Ub-Lajkovac section is built using state budget fonds.
