Some photos from the two currently U/C sections of Belgrade-Bar motorway, aka. Corridor 11:

Our Azeri friends sure aren't dragging their feet on their section, the ~40km Ljig-Preljina stretch, even though as it usually happens, the typically incompetent Serbian side hasn't fully wrapped up land expropriation along this route, leading to some quite justified complaints from Azerbaijani firm AzVirt:

Ub-Lajkovac, about 12,5km in length - being built by a consortium of local firms and financed out of Serbia's own budget:

Significant delays were caused when one of the firms doing work here went out of business but things are now once again flying along as another local company has stepped in:

The bypass runs parallel to E75 on this northern stretch...as far as when it will be finished, I don't think anybody really knows. Somebody from Novi Sad might know better.

Domestic construction companies to take part in building Ljig–Preljina section of Corridor 11

Quote:
Belgrade, 29 Oct 2012 – Minister of Construction and Urban Planning Velimir Ilic affirmed that the government will make an advance payment of over €60 million to Azerbaijan-based company Azvirt so that domestic construction companies can be engaged in the construction of the Ljig–Preljina motorway section on Corridor 11.

Opening the 7th international investment and real estate fair “BelRe” at the Belgrade Fairgrounds, Ilic said that these funds will be an incentive for the revival of the road sector.

He noted that five construction sites have already been opened on Corridor 11, near Ljig and Gornji Milanovac, because the government session held on 27 October managed to resolve the outstanding issues, such as VAT, expropriation, customs and others, which had hindered the realisation of the project. He also added that an advance payment has now been secured and the construction permits completed.

The Minister recalled that the construction of two tunnels near Ljig and Gornji Milanovac has also begun.

Speaking about the offer of Chinese companies to participate in this project and build the section from Belgrade to Ljig, Ilic announced that the next government session will decide which Chinese bidder has made the best offer for the Obrenovac–Ljig section, excluding the section from Ub to Lajkovac, which is already being built by domestic companies.

One Chinese company offered to construct the Obrenovac–Ljig section for €5.8 million per kilometre, he observed.

Ilic recalled that the Chinese Exim Bank will provide a very favourable loan to Serbia, with an interest rate below 3%.

A public-private partnership with a Chinese company is also under way concerning the construction of the motorway from the Zemun–Borca Bridge in Belgrade to Obrenovac, which will include a huge bridge on the Sava River and an intersection in Surcin, the Minister remarked.

I passed along this section today and they were intensively laying asphalt, hopefully they could open it very soon.

On the other hand it is shameful that the 22 km long stretch near the MAcedonian border is not yet finished, though it is almost everywhere paved and it is just misisng the signing. Ok there is a small section to pave where they built the toll booths but it is not a difficult to finish.
Elsewhere they are intensively working on the section Donj Neradovac-Srpska Kuca, while on the other 2 sections that started this april there was almost no one.

I neither understand it regarding the Mk border. Such an important section. That must be finished before summer 2013.

Are there Any plans to upgrade the old section from horgos to novi sad ? I know that one of the directions is brand new but the other is catastrophic.

Forgive my ignorance, but is it the last section to be completed between Horgos - Belgrade?

No, there is also another short section just north of this Novi Sad bypass, near Srbobran I believe, that remains to be completed. Not 100% about that though.

Meanwhile, hard-working Chinese crews have just celebrated with fireworks the start of the next phase of work on Belgrade's new Danube bridge - construction of main support pillars has largely been completed, allowing for construction to begin on the superstructure itself - unless its some sort of mistake, according to the video, we might see first vehicles crossing the new bridge sometime in late 2013, very much ahead of schedule

Thanks for clarification. This route has a sentimental value to me

isn't it a bit misleading to call this UC section between Kragujevac and Batocina a motorway? I guess, without widening current lanes and constructing new par of lanes, width of a lane will be between 350 and 375cm, which is bellow 425cm that is usually a lane on motorways through Serbia. Also, no auxilary (stopping) lanes here.
Just for clarification of what is under construction (and presented on photos), I wouldn't mark this as motorway. Someone correct me with terms if I'm wrong.
