Indeed.
Construction of the Belgrade ring-road actually kicked off in 1990.
But civil wars in neighbouring Croatia & Bosnia, UN economic embargo and other such silly things slowed it down.

Thankfully, roads construction in Belgrade is getting back on track...projects such as the Belgrade bypass, inner (UMP) and outer ring roads (SMT) should all be built.

As this will require construction of almost half a dozen major new bridges (or tunnels), talks are already ongoing with various parties concerning their financing.
Chinese have expressed interest in financing two future bridges - Zemun-Borca bridge thats part of SMT and new Vinca bridge, part of Belgrade bypass, thats expected to be over two kilometers in length.
Some sort of preliminary contract will be signed in August.

So new Belgrade bypass ring road ewill have only four knots - (Dob., Ost., Orl., B.Pot.) ?? Shouldn't it have more exits and access points to road network?

Sorry but I don't understand, what did he say wrong or offensive now? Wars and embargo did stopped all the progress not just in Serbia but also in whole Balkan.

I am not an advocate of CrazySerb, but I did not find that statement in the way you interpreted.

I got it in this way:

" 'cause we -Serbs- were involved in wars for 10 years you could not expect we had constructed new highways that time"

we all know history is at least quite complicated and you can read it in different ways, depends who tells you the story. all I know each war takes lives no matter if you go for Serbs or Kosovians.

I got a problem interpreting "Wtf ..."

just to keep it neutral - a definition:

Kosovo (Albanian: Kosova, Kosovė; Serbian: Косово or Косово и Метохија, Kosovo or Kosovo i Metohija[6]) is a disputed region in the Balkans. Its majority is governed by the partially-recognised Republic of Kosovo (Albanian: Republika e Kosovės), a self declared independent state which has de facto control over the territory; the exception are a number of Serb enclaves. Serbia does not recognise the secession of Kosovo and considers it a United Nations-governed entity within its sovereign territory, the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija (Serbian: Аутономна Покрајина Косово и Метохија, Autonomna Pokrajina Kosovo i Metohija), according to the Constitution of Serbia (2006).

whatever we think of the situation that already happened, we cannot turn things back. live with that or leave

Once again: What do you mean with the term "Kosovians?" I'm reading it for the first time.

It's not necessary to pollute this wonderful thread with political issues.

ufff,

many apologies for my obvious and horrible ignorance in name conventions. of course I meant "Kosovars" people who live within valid Republic of Serbia (Serbian version) / in independent Republic of Kosovo (Kosovars' version)

once again I hope it did not hurt anybody's proud.

even no single thought crossed my mind to make it a political issue. you see I am completely neutral to your internal problems and as you clearly reminded this is an infrastructure thread.

no surprise any more there were so many Balkan wars...
just say one word, and next day ....

you see if you mispelt my nation name I would adjust your post with all my happiness in the very polite manner. but if you could recall your reaction ... it was starting with "WTF". and these words are nothing to do with political issues
