About a month old video showing work along a stretch of Kragujevac-Batocina expressway, in my opinion the most crucial road project currently underway in Serbia ...

Apparently, negotiations with the Chinese firm CRBC regarding Belgrade's motorway bypass are in a final stage, and if concluded successfully work could begin as soon as next month on the Strazevica tunnel-Bubanj Potok section - the estimated cost to fully complete Belgrade's bypass is between 300-320 million euros.

This was posted by CrazySerb two pages back in this thread. I think it is still up to date. Sorry for large size.

I will give my best translation for the legend:
Dark green= Completed motorway
Light green= expressway/ motorway without emergency lane
blue= expressway/ fast road
red= road under construction
grey= in planing stage

Probably best video yet of that scenic drive along Danube river in eastern Serbia, near Djerdap and Romanian border...

Advisory issued as massive queues form at border crossings
Source: Beta, Tanjug

Quote:
BELGRADE -- A huge influx of passengers traveling from Turkey back to Western Europe after summer vacation season has caused long lines to form at border crossings.

On Friday, reports said that vehicles were stuck in a queue up to 50 kilometers long on the Bulgarian side of the Serbia-Bulgaria border.

Tanjug was told by the Serbian Customs officers at the Gradina crossing that they learned from drivers coming from Bulgaria that the line of vehicles reached "all the way to Sofia" - Bulgaria's capital city, located some 50 kilometers from the Kalotina crossing.

For this reason the Bulgarian Traffic Directory issued an advisory telling passengers traveling to Serbia to avoid Kalotina and use alternative crossings, such as Strezimirovac and Vrška Čuka.

Beta news agency is quoting Serbian Customs chief at Gradina Vladimir Stojanović as saying that although vehicles, mostly carrying Turks, are entering our country in eight lanes, the traffic jam was still "enormous."

The situation will get worse over the weekend, Stojanović warned.

Meanwhile, more queues have formed at the Horgoš crossing between Serbia and Hungary, where passengers must wait between three and four hours to cross the border.

Corridor 10 section from Levosoje to Macedonia border opens

Quote:

BELGRADE - A section of Corridor 10 from the village of Levosoje in the Bujanovac municipality, southern Serbia, to the Macedonian border opened for traffic on Saturday.

Koridori Srbije Director Dmitar Djurovic said the completed section is 21.5 kilometers long.

He said toll booths should be completed by the end of the year, so the road will start bringing in money.

Djurovic added that works are progressing at a good pace on the other sections of the southern leg of Corridor 10 and that an eight-kilometer stretch from Donji Neradovac to Srpska Kuca should open in late September.

Negotiations with Chinese firms regarding construction of Novi Sad-Ruma expressway, never more urgently needed following a series of accidents on the already congested road, could be concluded by the middle of October, enabling construction to begin sometime in the near future. The new expressway would include a 3,3km long tunnel under Fruska Gora national park.

When did Serbia introduced domestic road numbering? I like it although I have never seen it on traffic signs.

Motorways in Kosovo will end in field or where?

Any updates on the Novi Sad section of E-75? This section is taking forever, and there is only a few KMs remaining.

Antic takes office as minister of transport

BELGRADE - The further construction of major infrastructure projects, primarily road corridors, regard for the existing infrastructure, restructuring of Serbian Railways and activation of the Russian loan will constitute priorities in the policy pursued by newly-appointed Transport Minister Aleksandar Antic.

“The biggest challenge will be Corridor 10, all activities on Corridor 11, and using all potential,” Antic told reporters, after assuming ministerial duties from his predecessor Milutin Mrkonjic.

He announced that he will present the ministry's plan in seven to ten days.
