This could be two different things. It doesn't sound logical, given that the first motorway in Yugoslavia is said to be built only in 1972 (or 4-lane expressway by Rijeka in 1971).

AFAIK, they converted emergency lanes on the Gazela bridge into driving lanes, so it had 4 driving lanes at first, if that's correct. And why not? The point is in building a bridge across the Sava, and if they knew they'd build a 4-lane motorway after that, then of course they build it as 4-laned immediately (or 6-laned with emergency lanes). There're plenty of such cases in the world, f.e. 4-lane westernmost bridge over the Drava in Maribor, where there wasn't enough money to immediately continue with a 4-lane road, but the Drava was necessary to be bridged there ASAP. And that's just one case.

btw, probably this Beograd motorway was looking like old "autoput" in Zagreb which was also part of road 1 before the bypass was done

on the detailed table you got, the numbers from 1-9, 46-47 (both page 1), 194-197 (Page 4), 1-4 (Page 13) are for Belgrade

Why are roads in Belgrade so fkd up!?! Especially the motorway crossing through belgrade is in very poor condition, its like nobody does anything since Tito.

beacuse it is impossible to reconstruct it coz they ca not afford to close it for renovation t is too important until Belgrade bypass is done.

I didn't say it was more logical, but it's not illogical at all. All I know is that the first motorway in Yugoslavia is said to be Vrhnika - Postojna, built in 1972. Perhaps they didn't count the motorway through Belgrade, because it's an urban motorway with a speed limit of 80 km/h, so more like an expressway, but I have yet to see a reliable source about its construction date. Come on, it has to be somewhere (other than Wikipedia, which only mentions the bridge anyway).

You learn something new every day. I was actually wondering when the motorway through Belgrade was built, but never really bothered to go into discovering. I guess Vrhnika - Postojna was the first good motorway in Yugoslavia (normal speed limit, smooth curves etc.). In any case, Croatia can say goodbye to the title with its 1971 "motorway" by Rijeka.

Why this one is not good motorway? It has all motorway standards it is only in the city.
