But the E-80 will be soon transformed to Autoput A4
By the way, last Saturday I drove on the same piece of motorway as that Australian guy from youtube link, and noticed brand new motorway signs on Nis Sever interchange towards Bulgaria - it was written Pirot, Sofia, E80 [5]. Balkans

Another tunnel drilled on Corridor X

Sunday, 02/09/2014|15:07 | Source: Tanjug

The left tube of the Przojno-Padina tunnel on the bypass around Dimitrovgrad, at the eastern end of Corridor X, was drilled Friday (7 February 2014), whereas the entire tunnel should be completed in mid-2014.

This is the second tunnel drilled along the route of Corridor X, Koridori Srbije Director Dmitar Djurovic told Tanjug news agency, reminding that the left tube of the Progon tunnel had been drilled in December 2013.

- Just like we promised, works on 11 out of 12 tunnels on corridors X and XI have been underway the whole winter season - Djurovic pointed out.

The contractor for the construction of tunnels Progon and Przojno-Padina is the Greek company Terna which has a large experience in the construction of tunnels and carries out works in Serbia very successfully, he stressed.

Djurovic reminded that the plan was to finish the entire route of Corridor X towards Bulgarian and Macedonian borders in 2016.

Thursday, 02/06/2014|12:03 | Source: eKapija

A delegation of the European Union in Serbia has invited tenders for the construction of access roads to the Zezelj Bridge in Novi Sad. According to the tender documentation, the aim of this public procurement is to have access roads to the Zezelj Bridge built on both sides of the Danube River.

- New roads will improve the flow of road traffic across the bridge and around access roads. Also, they will increase the traffic capacity alongside the road and rail Corridor X and enhance navigability along Corridor VII - it is said in the documentation.

The deadline to submit bids is 7 May 2014.

Finance model for Novi Sad-Ruma road under consideration
Friday, 01/31/2014|10:23 | Source: Beta

Quote:

Construction of a tunnel through Fruska Gora and the Novi Sad-Ruma road is now in the phase when the models of funding are being considered, said Provincial Secretary for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government Branislav Bugarski.

He said in a talk with Clement Fourchy, the chief adviser to the European Public Private Partnership Expertise Center, that the possibilities of public-private partnership or concession are under consideration.

Bugarski noted that the costs of tunnel construction were estimated at between 70 and 100 million euros, adding that the construction of the Novi Sad-Ruma road was expected to cost EUR 180 million.

The topic of Thursday's talks was the legal and institutional framework for the implementation of PPP projects in Serbia and Vojvodina, and the two sides also discussed the possibility of funding a feasibility study for the tunnel and road project.

Clement Fourchy said that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development offered technical assistance in the preparation of the feasibility study and help in both the selection of private partner and the defining of tender procedure and agreements between the parties involved.

Fourchy added that the European Investment Bank also provided help through the JASPER mechanism by offering expert and technical assistance in the preparation of project implementation, stressing that expert assistance can also be obtained through the Western Balkan Investment Framework (WBIF).

That's good. It means that companies trust the serbian government and that the competition would be fair.

Have they demolished the old on-ramp from 'Novosadski put' in the direction of Novi Sad?

Taking photos is planned to be continued this spring (Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš are already shot in October and November 2013). I guess it will be available in late 2014.

Will Serbia be shot entirely or just some most populous cities? Btw. I can't wait.

I am utterly bewildered at the profusion of Danube bridges mentioned and their rationale at this stage.

Would a kind person please list all the Danube bridges finished since 2012, under construction now, number of lanes, shared with railway or metro, and motorway or expressway please, out to planned starts in 2017 or so.

Ta.

The more knowledgeable member please correct me, but there are two new bridges across the Danube in Serbia, Borca and Beska.

The Beska Bridge is actually two bridges, each two lanes wide. One is old and has been rebuilt, and another new one has been built recently.

The other one is Zemun-Borca. This one is under construction. It should be done by 2014-2015. This is built with Chinese loan. This is the second Danube bridge at Belgrade. The other, old, Danube bridge in Belgrade is Pancevo, which is road-rail bridge.

On the topic of other new bridges across the Danube in Serbia, I cannot comment. Many more bridges are necessary in the country, and one more bridge across the Danube in Belgrade would be very useful for offloading the overcrowded Pancevo bridge.

as we already heard,
since 2012., beska bridge got his twin-brother and in the meantime the old one has been overhauled, so now we have two full-motorway bridges (one for each direction) standing over danube near beska (this is btw the only bridge over danube that has been finished until today)

at the moment, another bridge over danube is being constructed between zemun and borca in belgrade, and it is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2014. it will have 3 lanes in each direction.

another one is also being constructed in novi sad, the new zezelj bridge, on the place where the old one (which was destroyed in the war 1999.) once was. the deadline for it already expired but the new one was set for the summer of 2015.
i believe it is going to have 2 lanes in each direction and a two-track railway...

in recent days, detailed plans have been revealed for another bridge over danube near vinca which would be a part of the belgrade bypass, it is planned to be a full-motorway bridge with a one-track railway.
the dates for the start of construction were not specifically mentioned, but I assume (and hope) it would start before 2017.

it is rumored that another one might start before 2017, a small 1+1 bridge near the croatian border (between backa palanka and nestin), plans for it exist for a while now, but unfortunately, i don't have any other info regarding...

I'm not sure if question refered also to existing bridges over Danube (other than these that are U/C or were recently built). Therefore, it can't hurt to list down other Danube bridges:
- Bezdan/Batina, 1x1
- Backa Palanka/ilok, 1x1
- Novi Sad (most Slobode), 2x2
- Novi Sad (Varadinski most), 1x1
- Novi Sad (however it is called, I guess it will be removed after Zezelj bridge gets done), 1 lane for railway and traffic, all in one
- Belgrade (Pancevaski most), 2x2 + 2railways lanes (someone from Bgd pls verify this)
- Smederevo/Kovin, 1x1?

Hydroelectric powerplants Djerdap1 and Djerdap2 are also used for traffic as 1x1 lane bridges, but that's not bridges

you forgot the bridges between erdut (cro) and bogojevo (sr), one is a 1+1 road bridge and the other one is a railway-bridge (one track)...

also,
"pancevo" bridge has currently only one railway track (but another one is going to be built in the near future...)
and yes, "kovin" bridge is 1+1
