A4 is the only connection between Europe and Asia, and A1 project to finish Autoput from Yu time from Karavanke to Gevgelija. Soon to happen, only two missing parts one in Serbia and one i Macedonia are under construction.

Not so long as far i can remember...but some access roads are still have to be built..it was bad choice becouse, we could made metro line for the same money, to connect two parts of the city. But it is good looking and very expensive to maintain.

I don't think it is possible to make a metro line for half a billion euros.

A new bridge across the Sava was necessary, but maybe not such a nice one.

Yes we,ve could made a metro line for that money,to connect Brdo with Nbg + smaller cheeper, and practical bridge.Or M1 Nbg-Trg pašića for sure.Ok i dont say it is bad cous it is build, bridge can carry metro system it self ,but it needs to be done new project on radnicka interchange and acrobatic innovative idea for metro to enter to Požeška str,but it can be done around hypodrome on some wider path.Problem with this bridge is hudge cost +urbanism hasn t be consulted, what is unbelievable for european and global standards!Thats why number od cars using this bridge is unacceptable low for this coast.Maybe with new central bus station things will get better...will see..

Here are some statistics for the cost of building a metro:
https://pedestrianobservations.wordp...costs-revised/

For the cost of ADA bridge, we could have had 3-5 kilometers of metro.

Having a single, short metro line won't serve much. Buses and trams are much better for short distance transport. Metro lines are best for travelling from one side of the city to the opposite.

Also it is best to have multiple lines for transfers.

I Disagree with these observations, theres are a diffrent analysys and depends from which loby is your point of view. For sure road builders do not want that rail bussines get their job!Funny is that on this case of Ada bridge that was exactly what hapened.

The costs for the construction of Sofia Metro are lower than the cited. The most expensive are the TBM drilled sections. For example, the central section of line 2 costs 44 mln euro per km including the stations. The sections built by other construction methods like NATM or cut-and-cover cost much lower.

The Ada Bridge was needed. The price could have been lower but not by much. The interchanges were the priciest part, with the bridge proper being around 160 millions Euros, and the three interchanges costing 75+40+60 million. The cheapest possible (pylonless) version of the bridge would not have cost less than 100 million. And two of the interchanges should have been even more complex, and more expensive.

They are completing works for M5, LOT1, in Bucharest this year (structural works, meaning 7km of double tunnels, 10 stations, and a depot) for about EUR 300 m. However, costs for installations and tracks will follow, as well as trains, which will double the cost. But then, the Basarab bridge in Bucharest also cost EUR 300 m, and I could not balance it with a metro line. It is as important if not more important than M5.

For the bridge it was local (Bucharest) budget. For the M5, it is the central budget but some money will be reimbursed by the EU (85%).
