Just a little bit of dark humor ... it's all very Alan Ford-esque

You mean on Google Maps? New satellite imagery is needed. Drawing the motorway blind is a fool's errand.

I am not aware by which method the maps that were posted here in the past were created, but I greatly appreciated them because I do not keep a close watch on motorway matters. I still like to be informed on progress and the maps that covered all of Ex-Yu were quite handy.

the current google satellite imagery shows the route of the new motorway section, although in the form of brown soil dug up during construction...
the only unclear part is the new vranje interchange

...you'll have to take a polygraph......( explanation for non-serbs ) "today" is popular among our ( serbian ) politicians to go at polygraph...

The A1 highway recently changed tolling into a closed system. Can anyone explain what it means ? wasn't it closed already with fixed booths and payment according to the distance covered ?

Toll was recently changed to closed system at Stara Pazova-Sirig section of A1, which used to be open. It is still open from Sirig to Hungarian border.

After a long pause, some initial works have once again restarted on further expansion of Belgrade's crucial inner ring road (UMP)- with the expansion/widening of an important intersection on New Belgrade side.

Related to that, fresh night video of Ada bridge

Seemingly off-topic yet somehow related ... Serbia's very much inept government is on the verge of selling one of it's last cash-cows, the state-owned Telecom. It has been said that, whatever proceeds from the sale are not spent on filling the budget and paying out salaries & pensions, might be spent on badly needed infrastructure.

Since the main corridors currently in planning are pretty much contracted out, my hope is these funds will go towards other crucial projects that have been stuck in limbo due to lack of finances - for example, completion of long delayed Subotica bypass, Novi Sad-Ruma-Sabac expressway, Kragujevac-Batocina motorway, etc.

Final bids for Telekom opened, Government to decide
Tuesday, 12/01/2015|13:06 | Source: RTS

The Government of Serbia finally saw final offers of six companies interested in the acquisition of 58% of shares at Telekom. The offers were estimated by a privatization advisor, French company Lazard and the Government decides on the best one not only based on price but also for the offered investment plan and social program. If none of the offers is satisfactory, they will give up on privatization of Telekom.

Five years ago, only one Italian company for less than EUR 1,4 billion which was the amount asked by the previous Government wanted to buy Telekom. This year, there were eight interested buyers 58% of shares and six of them delivered the offers. It is a good sign, Rasim ljajic, minister of telecommunication said two weeks ago when the offers were opened.

In order to support competition, data on the interested investors were kept in privacy but for a few times it has been communicated from Nemanjina that if none of the offers is good enough, sale is not going to happen. Apart from price, investment and social program will be taken into account since the objective is to preserve the company.

So, if none of the offers is good, there will be no sale but there will be changes in Telekom, mainly through dismissals of 30% of staff out of 13.000 employed at all Telekom’s companies in Serbia, the Republic of Srpska and Montenegro.

Tender for collection of offers for 58% shares was published in July and it has been speculated that the best offer was provided by Telekom Slovenia, the American Fund Apolo and the Chinese which early this month met the members of the Government of Serbia. It has been guessed that the best offer totals EUR 1,2 billion with rich social program and there were guesses the Government will not accept less than EUR 1,5 billion.
