While nothing would possibly surprise me anymore - it is Serbia after all - from what they have said, it's more like the motorway itself will open to vehicular traffic as most recently promised, on October 31st, while the proper ceremony, with photo-op opportunity for all the politicians and such, has been postponed for November 6th, due to scheduling arrangements because of the summit with Chinese in Latvian capital Riga that's supposed to take place in the meantime.

That's where they're expected to sign the final contracts concerning the Belgrade-Budapest HSR, Surcin-Obrenovac section of Corridor 11 motorway, as well as the contract for completion of Belgrade's motorway bypass - details as of yet unknown.

Funds for the construction of the Fruska Gora Corridor have been set aside and the construction is to begin in the first half of the next year, announced Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic at the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

– We have set aside the money and will complete all the projects and start building the Fruska Gora Corridor in the first half of the next year – Vucic said.

As he emphasized, the route has been discussed for years, but no one has even provided a preliminary design so for.

– I believe that we can complete the entire project in the next three years, within this government’s mandate – the prime pointed out.

Old Sava Bridge in two levels after all – Reconstruction worth more than EUR 60 million being prepared

Quote:

Monday, 10/31/2016|08:54 | Source: Blic

The Old Sava Bridge will soon go through a reconstruction in which more than EUR 60 million will be invested, and it will be designed so that it has two levels in the future.

The website of the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency has presented four possible profiles of the bridge, but, as Blic learns, the city officials have chosen the fifth option, the one left off the list. The bridge is supposed to be cut, raised to a higher level containing pedestrian and bicycle zones, with the tram traffic running below and two lanes on each side.

The project should be completed in mid-2017, followed by a tender for the contractor, which should be placed in late summer, and the works should start in mid-2018. This great project, if everything goes according to plan, should be completed by the end of 2019, greatly facilitating the traffic over the Sava.

Remind me, when did I say that? Maybe because I drink a lot, memory just not what it used to be anymore.

Anyways, according to this, it should have been completed by June this year:

Speaking of design, consortium of Serbian & Alpine Serbian (someone more politically correct might use the term "Slovene") firms selected to design Belgrade's Third Danube bridge.

Very encouraging, from design perspective (penny-pinching forumers concerned about cost will lynch me now), the same Slovenian firm behind Belgrade's Ada bridge, Ponting from Maribor, is part of it

Serbian-Slovenian consortium preparing conceptual design for Ada Huja bridge
Tuesday, 11/01/2016|09:29 | Source: eKapija

The preparation of a conceptual design, along with a feasibility study, for the construction of the bridge on the Danube near Ada Huja in Belgrade has been put in charge of the consortium made up of Belgrade's DB Inzenjering, Maribor's Ponting and Gradis, as well as Novi Sad's MHM Projekt and AB & Co Geosystems, Politika learns.

As said by City Manager Goran Vesic yesterday, the value of the tender was estimated at RSD 112,500,000, and the consortium offered RSD 73,569,990. The job is to be completed in 380 calendar days.

The bridge is to be built in four segments – Pancevo Road to revetment, revetment to Ada Huja, Ada Huja to Visnjicki Blvd, and Visnjicki Blvd to Slanci Road – and the new bridge has been envisioned to be the middle part of a ring around the capital of Serbia.

According to estimates, the bridge on Ada Huja, along with access routes, should cost around EUR 180 million

Slava Perunu

Belgrade's motorway ring-road will definitely be on the agenda at the upcoming China - Eastern Europe summit in Riga. We already knew that projects concerning the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed rail link, as well as the Surcin-Obrenovac section of Belgrade-Bar motorway would be signed, whereas the bypass was only speculated about....now, that has been confirmed

Quote:
Valuable contracts for infrastructure projects to be signed soon

Belgrade, 3 Nov 2016 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic will sign contracts for infrastructure projects, worth €734 million, during the Summit of Heads of Government of China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe which will be held on 5 November in Riga.

Together with representatives of the Serbian Railways Infrastructure and a consortium of Chinese companies China Railway International and China Communications Construction Company, Mihajlovic will sign a commercial agreement worth €319 million for the realisation of the first phase of the Belgrade-Budapest railway, from the Serbian capital to Stara Pazova.

A Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Exim Bank on crediting project of the Hungarian-Serbian railways in the territory of Serbia will also be signed.

A double-track railway line in the length of 34.5 kilometres, from the station Belgrade Centre to Stara Pazova, for speeds up to 200 kilometres is the first project of the Chinese railways in the territory of Europe and will be built in accordance with all local regulations and standards of the European Union.

Mihajlovic will sign an agreement with the Chinese Exim on financing the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac motorway, worth €208 million, for which a commercial agreement with Chinese company China Communication Construction Company was signed in June.

The new motorway has a length of 17.6 kilometres and its integral part is a new bridge across the Sava river, in the length of 1,800 metres.

This will be the third section on the Corridor built by Chinese companies, after the sections Obrenovac-Ub and Lajkovac-Ljig, in the total length of 50.8 kilometres, where the works are performed by Shandong Hi-speed Group.

Chinese companies will also work on the continuation of the construction of the ring road around Belgrade, on the section from Ostruznica Bridge to Bubanj Potok in the total length of 19.5 kilometres.

The commercial contract for the construction of a section worth €207 million between the Serbian government, public company "Roads of Serbia" and Chinese company Power Construction Corporation of China envisages the possibility that domestic companies participate in the works with 49 per cent.

Ikea is in southern part of Belgrade.
It's close to the old Bubanj Potok toll station.
Also new Vrcin toll station is under construction.
When they finish it,old Bubanj Potok toll station is going to be demolished, because part of Belgrade bypass is going to be on it's place.
