He is definitely not a communist. The construction manager might be though.

Who said he is? Just wrote it reminds me old times where the people's government controlled everything, at least theoretically, and pretended that cares for/look after everything and everyone, and has everything under control...

You can go via Jimbolia and Zrenjanin (181 km):

This option via Foeni is shorter (167 km):

no, but since the old highway is becoming one carriageway of the motorway it makes sense to sign it as motorway, if you zoom in, you will see the second carriageway as under construction.

A slight variation is the following:
The only difference is that after you pass Pozarevac on your way east you remain on route 34 via Veliko Gradiste. The trickiest part of this route traffic wise is between Craiova and Pitesti as there aren't by-passes constructed for the towns of Bals and Slatina, so on weekdays you get heavy build up of traffic. There's an enourmous amount of heavy truck traffic between Craiova and Pitesti, so I hope you have a decent car that can overtake at speed!

I've done this drive over 100 times - trust me the best route for overall road quality is via the Moravita border crossing. Route is here. Note that there's a by-pass around Belgrade and over the new Chinese bridge on the Danube as shown here

Thanks a lot. I`m gonna follow your suggestions. I realized (again) today that traffic in Romania outside of motorway is a nightmare, even in you have 2,5 litre turbocharged petrol engine
Btw, To be honest I go from Bucharest to (Novi) Beograd on Wednesday

Fly-over (fly-trough for the tunnels) of the newly finished section of the A2 motorway (Ljig-Preljina).

New Coridor 10 section to open by the end of November – Road workers connect Pirot and Dimitrovgrad

The first next highway section in Serbia to open is the one between Pirot and Dimitrovgrad, on the eastern branch of Corridor 10. The Corridors of Serbia say that the works on the 14.3 m long section are close to being completed and that the section will open for traffic by the end of this month. The exact date has not yet been set, but Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has announced that the opening will take place in 15 to 20 days.
It seems to be delayed. Is there any new announcement about the opening of this or any other A4 section?

The plan is to open Pirot East-Dimitrovgrad West in full profile and Dimitrovgrad bypass as half-profile by the end of the year or at the very beginning of 2017. Westwards a short section between Pirot East and road 428 may also open soon.

Pirot E. - Dimitrovgrad is generally complete already now but it needs the following segment to operate. There already is road marking, signs, etc.The only remaining work to be done is a small patch at the tolling section itself.
