This will be part of Corridor 11, connecting Romania & beyond to Adriatic Sea via Serbia and Montenegro.

Serbia to invest 400 mln euro to revamp 220 km of roads

Quote:
BELGRADE (Serbia), April 6 (SeeNews) – Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said on Thursday the government plans to invest 400 million euro ($426.2 million) in the rehabilitation of 220 km of roads.

On Friday, the government will launch rehabilitation works on the 24 km-long Zabalj-Zrenjanin road, in northern Serbia, and plans to invest 733 million dinars (5.9 million euro) in the project, Mihajlovic said in a video posted on the website of public broadcaster Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS).

The government plans to discuss the inclusion of more companies in the construction works of Corridor X, as the contractor, Greece's Aktor, does not have enough workers to complete the project by the end of 2017 as planned, Mihajlovic added.

Aktor is building the Prosek-Crvena Reka, Crvena Reka-Ciflik, Stanicenje-Pirot sections and Dimitrovgrad bypass of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway. The company had completed a little more than half of the planned by February, Mihajlovic said back then.

Corridor X will connect Salzburg in Austria to the Greek port of Thessaloniki, passing through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.

In Serbia, the project includes the construction of Belgrade bypass motorway, as well as two separate sections, linking Nis to Merdare and the border with Bulgaria.

Some added incentive for Serbia to finally step up & finish construction of regional expressways, such as Kragujvac-Batocina...

Tata Motors and Volkswagen considering car production in Kragujevac?
Tuesday, 03/28/2017|08:33 | Source: Danas
sr de

Germany's Volkswagen is growing closer to signing an agreement with the biggest car company on the Indian subcontinent – Tata Motors. The two companies are planning to initiate joint production of a small and inexpensive car, meant primarily for the Indian market.

Tata Motors says that the production of the model in Europe is an option as well and Kragujavec has been mentioned as one of the potential destinations in that context.

This is not a big surprise to those in the know, as Tata and VW used to be interested in acquiring the former Zastava factory.

They're saying by the middle of this year, but who knows - it's Serbia, after all.

Negotiations about construction of Preljina-Pozega highway begin – Investment estimated at EUR 390 million

Thursday, 04/13/2017|13:16 | Source: Tanjug

Quote:
Representatives of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure have started negotiating with the Chinese about the construction of the highway section from Preljina to Pozega, stated Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic at the opening of the new toll booth at Vrcin.

– The section from Preljina to Pozega is 31 kilometers long. We have estimated it at around EUR 390 million. This is very expensive, as you have to go through the the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge – Vucic said.

He added that the construction of Corridor 11 up to Boljare at the Montenegrin border would continue, but also that the branch from Uzice to Sarajevo would be built.

Vucic said that negotiations about the construction of the Morava corridor Pojate-Preljina, meant to connect Corridors 10 and 11, had been re-initiated.

As announced earlier, two section of the highway on Corridor 11 should be completed by late October, thereby connecting Obrenovac and Preljina by a 103-km highway.

The workers from the China Communications Construction Company should complete the section from Surcin to Obrenovac in slightly under three years.

Let me guess - they couldn't figure out how to use the new equipment on the first day of operation? That's a terrible line-up of cars for mid April!
