I suppose that they do know about Kelebija too but probably there are less people, you should try with some of those smaller nearby crossings I mentioned.

Webcam That sounds like an ultra distant future hightech feature for Serbian police/customs/motoclub. Motoclub publishes textual reports on their website though but this is hardly of any use while you are in the car. The best thing is to dial them on 987 and ask. These short numbers are sometimes hard to reach from a different country so if it fails call their central office on +381113331100

Yeah please avoid Serbia for mutual good. We will have less reckless drivers and you will not have to spend your money on speeding fines.
Good advice my friend, for sure I am going to listen to you.

Oh, yes, as far as I can see, most Poles would like to be put to the prison for driving 180km/h on motorway.

It is an extremely complicated terrain and there will be dozens after dozens of tunnels and bridges or better say it will be tunnels and bridges cut with highway here and there.

That's right. As for Montenegro, yesterday the Greek-Israeli consortium of Aktor/HCH submitted their final offer and we're now waiting for Wednesday, when the government is supposed to make its decision. This has become somewhat of a soap opera, with Croatia's Konstruktor (they won the original tender but after failing to come up with financing even after many deadline extensions, the government rescinded that contract) announcing it has finally secured financing and it may get back in the game. We shall see.

Couple of interesting pics of roads in Serbia's southern Pester highlands region - one of the most remote areas of the country, sometimes referred to as "Serbian Siberia" as temperatures can often dip bellow -40C

When you enter the country, there is a table that tells you the maximum allowed speeds. If you think that you are above the law and better than everyone else who drives at the maximum allowed speed and you want to drive 60km/h faster than what's allowed, it's your own fault if you get caught and you'll have to deal with the consequences. Very simple.

Horgoš - Reske - do you mean there is another border crossing on local road separate to the one on motorway?

Bajmok - Bačalmaš, Đala - Tisasiget : are those crossings open for people other than Serbs and Hungarians?

Tourist Organization of Belgrade didn't give that information at all. Not very nice of them.

They just listed it as Bački Breg - Hercegszántó, Kelebija - Tompa, Bajmok - Bácsalmás, Đala - Tiszasziget, Horgoš - Röszke (road and rail), Subotica - Kelebija (rail), Bezdan - Mohacs (river), Kanjiža - Szeged (river crossing)

without mentioning that some of them are actually closed for foreign citizens nor that they have limited work hours

Total cost: just over 200 million euros.

A clever move!
Beograd - Paracin - Zajecar- Vidin (intersection with C VII PE) - Craiova - Pitesti - Bucuresti - Constanta (Black Sea) / Chisinau (Moldova) on C IX PE to Ukraine - Russia and so on - a good route for Serbia and other Balkan countries.
And for Southern Romania, too! In the way to Italy, Austria and Balkan countries.

motorway by 2015.
2nd may 2010, Source: Reuters
Podgorica - Minister for National Investment Plan Verica Kalanović says the highway Belgrade-South Adriatic Sea should be completed by 2015. year.

In an interview for the montenegrin Podgorica newspapers Vijesti, Kalanović said that the money from the sale of 40 percent of the shares of Telekom Serbia will be spent to finance the construction of that road.

"Highway Belgrade-South Adriatic Sea is a strategic priority for Serbia and a detailed plan for construction that is established at the highest body dealing with infrastructure, chaired by President Boris Tadic - National Council for the infrastructure," said Kalanović.

She said that the entire section is divided into three sectors according to different degree of readiness documentary project and funding sources.

"It is certain that this year, but during the summer, begin implementation of the first section of Ub to Lajkovac financed by money from the budget of the Republic of Serbia," said Kalanović.

She said that everything will be done to sector 1, from Belgrade to Ljig, to be completed within the mandate of this government.

"Given the importance, objectives should be modified to be completed by 2015. Year. We have an obligation to the citizens and we have no right to delay the implementation of the project that their long-standing need and desire, but also a precondition for rapid economic development," said Minister .

According to her, motorway through Serbia will be 255 km in length, the average price should not exceed seven million euros per kilometer. For the construction of certain shares, the Minister pointed out, it will be spent funds received from the sale of Telekom Serbia.

"The construction of this motorway, Corridor 10, and modern regional roads that are designed as a double bar open, Serbia will look different for five years for people who live in Serbia and for people who come into it. From Montenegro we will come to a modern motorway, from Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Macedonia's by Corridor 10,with Bosnia and Herzegovina (RS) and Romania we will be connected by modern roads of regional significance, so in the Balkans, nothing will be far away, "said Kalanović.

Thanks.

Is the Montenegro section tendered entirely or just a section thereof?

I am just trying to look at the progress of the Corridor to understand when it will be timely for the road authority here to start thinking about the Romanian section which is not very difficult and long, but they need to start planning it 3 years in advance to have it finished in time. But as I said previously, there is no money planned for other motorways and it is very probable that the Government will try to get some EU funding for this starting with 2013, which means that this Corridor needs to enter TEN-T. It's going to be interesting to see if it is approved by the Commission for funding.

Paracin-Vrska Cuka: Highway, 82.1 km long and 16 meters wide, would have two lanes in one and two in another direction, and dividing strip, the output loop, two bridges and four tunnels, and should be completed in three years. value of this investment is 200 million euros, and would be partly financed from the national budget, and partly with the help of funds from international financial institutions
