Great photo tour. I have a question about logistics that I hope you'll answer. You have taken shots from the Westin Hotel but how did you take those south-looking shots?

Here are my guesses...

The south looking shots aren't actually from the Westin...maybe the Benson with a slight zoom? I doubt this as then the Westin would be in the way of Fox Tower but I know little of photography.

The staff at the Westin took you(or you went up on your own as the door isn't always locked) to the roof to take the shots...this is my best guess.

I know there are shots taken from the Westin from a xx12 or xx14(my guess is 14) room on a floor near at the top. So I am confident the south looking shots are indeed from the Westin...but how did you do it?

Yes but it doesn't rain much as New York, Houston, and Miami. Northwest region got about 180 rain days a year while NY, Houston, and Miami got more than 200 rain days a year.

Had to take another look. Truely one of the great north american cities. Every once in a while I catch the $56 roundtrip Amtrak train to Portland. What a great city. One of my favorite. Nice pics indeed.

Great photos!!!! I LOVE Portland. I am always amazed driving South on I-5 and seeing downtown Portland out to the right across the Willamette and with the hills in the background. Truly unique in the U.S.
